Good Morning. Just thought I would pop in and make an entry before I start my day. When I awoke yesterday, I had a headache. I wasn't in the best of moods and didn't want to be bothered. I made coffee, sat at computer and read and commented on a few journal alerts. I had quiet time for about an hour, until Jim and Rebecca got up. Typical sunday morning it was, What's for breakfast? Fixed Rebecca cinnamon toast is all I did. Then sat back down at computer and read some more journals. About an hour later, Jim bags up the laundry and off he went to the laundry mat. He calls, and wants to know what's for dinner, I tell him I don't know figure it out. I had mentioned saturday night that I would like to be taken out to dinner for Mother's Day, guess he forgot. So, he comes home from laundry mat with a roast, gravy mix, and salad fixings, and says I thought this would be nice for dinner. I looked at him and had to turn away. I was so mad. It was mothers day and he expected me to cook? I shut down computer, got dressed, grabbed my purse and said see ya!! He was like, where are you going? I told him, I am going out to celebrate Mother's Day by myself, and out the door I went. Got in the van, turned on the oldies station to 98.1 and off I drove. I went to Walmart where I spent 78.00 on me. Things I wanted and things I want to make for 2 people I love and adore, on line friends. They'll know who they are when they get a package from me. I bought myself some new slippers, a book I wanted called, The Crossroads by Beverly Lewis. She grew up in Lancaster, Pa, in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country area. I started reading it last night and so far I love it. I also bought my daughter a mother's day gift. A book I know she'd love to read. I forgot the name and author but I'll find out what it is this week. I got, doilley string, 2 colors, and a small crochete needle to make the doilley's, a brand new plain white pillow to crochete a cover for, a dish pan for my kitchen, and I found stensils that my sis in law Nancy hasn't been able to find where she lives. Tomorrow a trip to the post office is needed. I need 41 cent stamps and 10 2 cent stamps. I also have 3 envelopes to mail that I know need extra postage.
So after Walmart, I sat in my van for a bit enjoying a cold diet pepsi and thought about dinner. I knew I wouldn't get taken out to dinner. So, I went to the Acme and bought hotdogs, hamburger, rolls, chips, dip, 12pk diet pepsi, pickles. I figured I'd fix something easy for dinner after I cleaned the kitchen, grrrrrrrrrrr. I pull up to my house, music blasting, lol, windows in van all open and sat there a minute waiting for a song I liked to end. Jim must of heard the music and looked out and seen it was me and came out to the van. He carried up the groceries for me. As I was walking in the front door carrying my walmart bags, Joe opens his door and says, Come here you! I thought, Oh shit, what did I do? He leans forward and kisses me on the cheek, and behind his back pulls out a bouquet of roses and says Happy Mother's Day. That made me so happy, I could barely see to walk up the steps for the tears were running down my face. I swear if he ever meets a girl and falls in love with her, she's going to be one lucky lady for sure. He calls me his second Mom, cause I always make sure he's ok and has eatten dinner. So, I put my bags down on couch, dig out the dish pan and go into kitchen where I had to put away groceries and do the dishes. Jim is standing in kitchen, big smile on his face and says Happy Mother's Day. I look at him and then I noticed something. This husband of mine cleaned the entire kitchen. He did all the dishes, counter, stovetop, table and even swept and mopped the floor. I showed him the dishpan, and we both started laughing. He even folded and put away the laundry he washed earlier. Wow!!!!!!!! So then he says, he and Joe have an idea. They want to cook me and Joe's Mom dinner tonight. I said, Oh, what's on the menu? He said Grill. I reached into grocery bags pulled out hotdogs, ground beef, buns and all. I said well cook this too. So, Jim pulled out our big grill from Joe's garage and he cooked steaks, hotdogs, hamburgers on the grill, while Joe cooked, corn on cob, baked beans, brocolli, and shrimp indoors and he fixed a salad too. Our plates were made by Jim and Joe, and sat in front of us. Wow, what a treat too. And it was all delicious. Mommom and I enjoyed our feast. Joe's brother's Mike and Anthony were there also. Uncle Mike was busy having a tickling match with Rebecca. They had a blast. I took a few pics. When I got home from shopping I found my gift from Emma in a cute little pink bag sitting on my desk. A beautiful plaque that reads, Thank you Mom, thank you for all you've done, for being so special and kind. You've helped me learn, grow and become who I am today. Thank you for your caring support and gentle guidance. I love you. And she gave me a beautiful card that plays a wonderful song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. And I got a card from my grandkids, and Marissa signed her own name to it. I loved my gift and cards. Well, I'd better add the pics before I run out of room, lol. Take care everyone and have a great day.
