Dear Cindy,
ReplyDeleteSorry I have not been by your blog in such a long time. I do my journaling in fits and starts. I've caught up with all your news. So very sorry to hear about the passing of Jim's Father. He's in a better place & there's no pain & suffering where he is. How wonderful that your received good news about your lump. I've been through that scare myself. The time waiting for results seems to take forever. And I hope you get the gastic bypass if you can & truly want it. I am diabetic (type 2) myself. I've only known abt 2 yrs. I take 2 pills and one injection (not insulin) before breakfast & one again 12 hrs later. It helps the sugar levels & a wonderful side effect is that it really curbs the appetite. I lost 18 lbs the first month I was on it. The I lost 7 more, but have gained some back since I was so ill last winter. It really helps though. It's called Byetta. Take good care of your skin/feet. I am horribly prone to pressure ulcerations and cracks on my feet. And also very susceptable to infections. I have already had one half of a toe amputated as it would not heal & the infection got in the bone. I was at the DR today & have 3 small wounds and one abt the size of a dime and fairly deep on the bottom of a big toe. I've been using silver nitrate on it & it's gotten a LOT better in the past 2 weeks. However 2 of the toes with the smaller wounds are infected. He said if they don't improve in the next 36 hours it's back to the hospital. He also said it's very possiblel that down the road he may end up having to amputate the first joint of each big toe & the joint of the 2nd toe because of the constant ulcerations. Sorry, didn't mean to lay all this bad stuff on you. Just sharing my experience. Hopefully if you get the surgery your diabetes will be gone & those will be things you don't have to worry about. You're all in my prayers.
Hugs, Barb (queenb)
