Past Few Days

Introducing the newest addition to my family. This beautiful baby girl is the daughter of my niece Donna who lives in Virginia. This is Skylar Avery Turner. She was born November 11th. Weighing in at 7lbs 14oz and 21 inches long. Mother and daughter are doing fine. Donna says she is such a good baby. Donna and Danny congrats to you on bringing such a beautiful baby girl into this world. And Anthony, congrats on becoming a big brother. And to the grandma (my Sister Lucy) congrats grandma, how many grandkids now? Oh yea, 9 of them. Donna gave me permission to add her baby into my journal. Thank you Donna, love ya kiddo. Give Sky kisses for me.

I bought my tree today. A 6 1/2 foot artificial white tree. Only 19.99 at Family Dollar. Kmart wanted 69.99 for a 4ft white tree, rip-off. I got 200 white lights, and white light star, and red balls and purple balls. There Rebecca and I favorite colors, her's being red and mine being purple. And I am going to put silver bows I made about 12 years ago on it also. I wanted to put it up tonight, but Mr. Humbug was grouchy and said it isn't even December yet. He's always grouchy in december. I don't know why. I leave a dollar or two for him after christmas shopping, lol. Speaking of that, I haven't even started on that yet. Last minute shopping I guess this year. I won't be doing the christams dinner this year. My daughter is. Thanksgiving took alot out of me, not to mention the pain I was in. I made that entire meal myself and it was alot of work. Even cleaned the mess myself. I don't know if I mentioned it, but I fell down the steps again. This time only 8 steps and not the full 14. But this is the third time now and it caused so much pain in my right knee. It's not swollen or bruised, but it does hurt if I move it wrong, and it is making cracking noises when I bend it. I am keeping an eye on it, and if it does get worse I will go to the doctor's.

Monday I didn't have to help Rebecca's teacher. So I spent the day with Emma and Daniel and Adrianna. Dan came home early from work due to rain and wind, so Emma and Daniel and I went out and Dan watched Adrianna. We took Daniel to get his hair cut, then to lunch and while we were out Dan called my cell and said Hollywood Tan's called and Emma won their contest. She said I won what? Cause she never entered a contest. When she started going there she used my email address. Well earlier this month I got an email asking for her to enter to win a contest. So I entered her, and she won. It was a gift basket worth 204.00. She was so excited and happy. It reminded me of when she was little and would wake up easter morning to see a great big basket full of all kinds of goodies for her. I took a couple pics of her coming out the door with her basket and a couple at home of the things in it. Also took some of Daniel and his mommy at the pizza place. And of course a couple of Adrianna. And of course the first pic is a pic of my computer screen with Adrianna on it, lol. I just love that pic of her.

Jim has my web cam hooked up, but he can't figure out how to get the microphone to work. It gives no directions for it either. He'll get it working sooner or later, he always does.

The past couple days at school have been rough. Yhe kids are so noisey, a couple of them will wet themselves, there's 2 that are constantly hitting on other kids, 2 that  cry over stupid things, and 2 that are always falling out of their chairs. The only time they are quiet is movie time. Since I have no VCR now, I took in a bunch of Walt Disney movies. Today they watched Ice Age, and wow was it quiet in the classroom. While they watched the movie, the teacher and I got their homework assignments in their books, 100 book challenges done, and Behavior charts filled out. The teacher had to call the office 3 times today. The wall thermometer said it was 92 in the classroom and I believe it was too. Everyone was complaining they were hot. Finally after Rebecca's face got so red and she said she felt funny the teacher called again and said it was an emergency to turn off the heat, it was turned off. We gave Rebecca some cool paper towels to rub her face and neck with to cool her off. We opened a couple windows and after about 15 minutes it was 20 degree's cooler. What a relief!!!

Well, I guess that is about it for now. I have been getting to journals slowly. Manage to get to about 10 alerts a day. I am forever being interrupted and it's hard to read and comment when people are bothering you. Anyways, I will get to your journals. I hopeeveryone has a good evening and a better tomorrow.

Love to all.........................

Where's my Calgon?????????????????

Ahhhhhh, there it is. I really need it tonight. I have had a totally exhausting, frustrating ,noisey weekend. You'd think I would want to rest after the 2 days of cooking thanksgiving dinner, then cleaning up all the mess the following day. Did I rest? Nope not one bit. I am drained. I feel like I am winding down like some old clock that needs to be wound, but someone forgot to do it. So, let's see. Yesterday I take Rebecca to the hair salon to have her hair trimmed once more so I can then let it grow back long again. The child talked and talked and had everyone in the salon rolling with laughter. She even sang 3 songs to them. $15.00 later we leave the salon, and I go to my daughter Emma's to see if she wanted to go to the thrift store with me. Dan was at work, and so was his brother Bill, so Emma couldn't go. So, I take my granddaughter Marissa along with Rebecca and I. We go to the thrift store. Before entering the store I warn them. No running around, no touching anything. Stay by me at all times. Did they listen? HAHAHAHAHA, yea right. A few arm grabs and harsh threats, and 20.94 later I left the store with a jacket, 6 shirts, christmas table cover, and 6 nice big bath towels. Ok, now, walk out of store go to get in car, Marissa says, mommom can we eat lunch, we're hungry. Ok, can't have hungry kids, so walk across street and get Happy Meals at McDonalds along with a Fish sandwich and cup of coffee for me. Dang Happy Meals got Shrek toys in them. The Donkey ones. Put cards in slot, press tail and cards shoot out all over the table and floor. Rebecca slides under table to get cards, and yells, Mommy, there's a million pieces of gum under the table. Ut Oh, real quick, get out from under the table and DO NOT TOUCH THAT GUM!!!! Whew she listened. Hurried them out of there, but not before telling the manager about the gum. How gross, yuck. So we head to KMart. Again I warn the girls. Stay by me at all times. Do not leave my side. They listened, somewhat. I started shopping. Got my brother a pair of workboots, 2 pr's jeans, long underwear shirt, also got Jim 2 pr jeans. Hey 8 bucks a pair, I couldn't pass up that deal. Then I spotted women's flannel pajamas, 16.99. But it was buy one get one free. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, got myself 2 pr for only 16.99, woooohoooooooooo. My cousin gave me a pair a couple years ago for christmas and I loved them, also wore them out. So, 2 pair for the price of one worked for me. Ok, so I then decide to go look at the christmas display. I want a white artificial tree this year. They had a 4 1/2 ft white one, 69.99, no way. I'm not paying that much for it. I'll look elsewhere. So, Marissa and Rebecca are fasinated at the animated lawn ornaments that light up. There was an igloo, Winnie the Pooh, reindeer and Polar bears. After repeating myself at least 5 times saying, Ok girls I'm done, let's go, they finally follow me, but not before Marissa trips and knocks over at least 300 boxes of ornament hooks from a cardboard display. The 3 of us and a man pick all the boxes up and put them back on the display stand. By now my head is pounding, I am breaking out in a sweat and I just wanna leave. So we start walking towards front of store to register's so I can pay for my items and leave. As we're walking towards register's my wonderful perfect little angel......NOT, lol Daughter starts yelling very loudly. Quick, everybody get out of the store, there's a bear in here. There's a bear in the store, everybody get out now. People were saying a bear? Where? Rebecca says, It's in the christmas tree's, you gotta get out of the store now. I looked at people shaking my head and saying, I do not know these children. I am taking them back where I found them. Marissa says, Mommom, you do to know us, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I paid for my items as quick as I could and got out of that store. By the time I got them seated and belted, bags in van and sat down in driver's seat I did not know whether to scream, cry or laugh. I sat for a few minutes, then called Emma and told her to put a pot of coffee on. I got to her house and drank 3 cups. Did my frustration go away? Nope. Beings I am such a nice person I bring Marissa home with us for a sleepover. Why do I punish myself? Jim had the kitchen and livingroom cleaned spotless. I ordered pizza for dinner, so not to dirty the kitchen. I was just too tired to clean up if I cooked. No more then 10 minutes the livingroom was trashed. These girls got into the craft box of Rebecca's and cut a million tiny pieces of paper up and it was all over the floor, crayon's, markers, coloring books, everywhere. After pizza was eatten, their butt's cleaned the floor. I put them to bed at 9pm. Well finally around 11pm they fell asleep. 7am I wake up. There is the girls in the kitchen eatting applesauce and jello and milk. Yum great breakfast huh? Jimhad mopped the floor when me and the girls were out yesterday. Guess what? It had to be mopped again. There was jello all over the floor and applesauce all over the table. Noon came I was dressed, told Marissa to get her things and home I took her. I stayed at Emma's a bit and put Daniel down for a nap and he;d my granddaughter Adrianna for a while until she fell asleep in my arms and I laid her back down to nap. I had 2 cups of coffee and came home. Jim, Joe and Rebecca were outside raking and bagging up leaves. I came upstairs to my apartment, put a roast in the oven, and folded about a zillion loads of clean laundry and put it all away. I am so glad that job is done. Dinner was great. Roast beef, mashed taters, gravy and a big salad and baked bread. Rebecca got a bath and is in bed sleeping and Jim is over at a friend of his house with all the guys from work watching the game. Eagles vs Patriots. He said he'll be home at half time. Right now I am going to jump in the shower, put on my flannel PJ's then play some POGO for a while, before I go to bed. Back to school tomorrow, woooooohoooooooo.

Before I go I'd like to ask a favor of you all. Could you please send up some prayers for Krissy's husband John, for Pam, and her son, and for Pam's friend Joey. Thank you.

Love to all..............Cindy

What a day it was..........

I have tried 3 times already to post this entry, and all 3 times I either fell asleep or was interupted in some way. So, anyways, I hope everyone enjoyed their thanksgiving day. I started cooking the night before, and started again 8am the following morning. I fixed, the turkey, stuffing, mashed taters and gravy, coleslaw, yams and apples baked in oven, cranberry sauce, pasta salad, baked ham, mini crescents. I was exhausted by the time it was all set out on the table. My back was killing me, my legs and right shoulder were throbbing so bad I had to take a couple Tylenol Arthrtis pills and sat down until everyone fixed their plates, and then I fixed my own plate. There was a total of 15 of us. Three of Dan's brother's didn't show up. I was so happy to see Katie and Kaylei join us for dinner. Kaylei is my niece and her mommy Katie is my nephew Eddie's ex-girlfriend, but in my heart Katie is also my niece. She is going to nursing school and I am so proud of her. She told me they are going to Paris in January with her parents for a week. That is so cool. Dan's nephew Vince and his girlfriend and their son had no plans for thanksgiving and were just gonna stay home. When Emma told me this I told her to call them and tell them to get their butts over here and join us. They came over and hugged me and said thank you and had a nice meal. Their son Lil Vince is 7 mos old and he is such a cutie. I picked him up and he wrapped his little arms around me and laid his head on my shoulder and said awwwwww giving me a hug. I love that lil boy. I fed him some mashed potato's and mashed yams with apples, he loved it. Vince Sr. played the guitar for us, and the girls all danced around the livingroom, Rebecca, Marissa and Kaylei, and Daniel joined in also, lol. They were so cute. Eveeryone had a great time and had a full stomach. My son in law Dan ate 3 plates of dinner and 2 pieces of pie. He says to me, Mom I can finally admit something. I asked him what was that? He says, That I am actually full, lol. This coming from a man who is always hungry, lol. So, my Thanksgiving was lovely. It made me happy to have everyone here, eatting food I made and loving it all. Hearing everyone talk and laugh, sing, and watching the little ones play, laugh dance, sing and having 2 babies here to hold. I felt so blessed and so very thankful that I was here to enjoy it all.

Before Grandmom Mazzoli left I fixed her up a big bag of food to take home for lunch and dinner today. Vince Sr asked for a few pieces of turkey and pasta salad for his lunch today for work, so I fixed him up some, and I also made my son in law his lunch for today. They were happy campers, lol. Tonight I am heating up leftover's for dinner.

Tomorrow my day is busy. I have to go to thrift store and get some clothes for my brother Paul. He was released from prison on wednesday and has no clothes at all, except for the ones on his back. So 20 bucks I can get him quite a few things. Then I have to take Rebecca to the hairdresser's and have her hair trimmed, then go grocery shopping. Busy, busy am I, lol.

Also Mommom I was released from the hospital the night before thanksgiving. Since they cannot do the stent because the cardiologists no, not at this time, he has more tests to run first, they allowed her to come home until Monday when she goes in for tests. She has lost so much weight. I hugged her and felt bones. She weighs 87 pounds, and she is 5'7. Joe went shopping today while Rebecca and I sat downstairs with mommom and bought her lots of good foods, fruits, veggies, and vitamin drinks. He fixed her lunch of grilled chicken, steamed veggies and brown rice, and a glass of green tea, that her doctor wants her to have. Tonight he's fixing his mom, broiled fish, whole grain pasta, steamed brocoli, cottage cheese with sliced peaches. He said he'll fatten her up, lol. He got her bananas, grapes, peaches, cantalope, oranges and mango's. Next week sometime she will find out when she is having the surgery to put the stent in.

I guess I had better go now. I have a trashed kitchen and bedroom I have to clean. I didn't do the dishes last night. I was just too tired and in too much pain. There isn't many dishes to do, because I was msart and used the fine china, yep paper plates work great when there's so many people here, lol. So, it's mainly just pots and pans and the bowls and platters that held the food.

I have over 100 alerts to get through, which I will start on tonight. Hope everyone is having an awesome day and keep warm, cause after that rain came through late yesterday afternoon the temps dropped from 74 down to 43, brrrrrrrr.

Love to all.........................CINDY

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. I hope today is filled with love, laughter, family, friends and lots of tasty food to fill your belly. My turkey is stuffed and in the oven now. And when I make this entry I will start on the remaining menu of my dinner today. I also have to remember to clear out my camera so I can take pictures today.

Rebecca spent the night at her sister's last night. Man was it quiet here. I was able to get my eggs boiled and peeled, with her begging for an egg or two. I made my roasted red pepper and garlic dip for the veggies and chips. And wow does it taste good too.

Jim ordered me something I really want. A web cam, with a built in microphone. It will arrive in 5 to 7 days. Jeannette, I'll be able to wave back to you and chat too in journals im,lol. I really like that new feature. I went in for the first time the other night and had a great time. Rebecca was so amazed that she could hear and see Jeannette. She'll be wanting to use the webcam too, lol.

The pictures above are recent. Adrianna looks chunky sitting up against the couch, but she's not at all chunky. She is long and very thin. She now weighs 9 pounds 4 oz and is 23 inches long. The pediatrician says she is a little underweight for her length. I don't know how, all that baby does is eat. She is a piggy. She nurses Emma dry and Emma has to give her formula in between nursing her.

I became a great-aunt again on November 11th. My niece Donna had a baby girl, 7lbs 14 oz. She named her Skylar Avery Turner. I don't have a pic as yet, but when I do, I will post it. Donna reads my journal, so Donna congrats kiddo, and give my newest niece a big kiss from Aunt Cindy.

Today is a day where we are thankful for our blessings. Today I am thankful that I am here on this earth to be with my family and friends. I am thankful for having been blessed with a husband who loves me and whom I love dearly. I am thankful for my daughters, and my grandchildren. I am thankful for the many family members and dear friends that I have. And I am thankful that I was blessed with so many on line friends I have made and forthe people I love and adore here in Jland.

You are such wonderful friends/family, and I am truely blessed to know you all. Today my heart is full of LOVE for all the people in my life and for those I have lost from this earth.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bored beyond words

This weekend has been the most boring weekend I have had in a long time. The only thing we did that was any fun was go out to breakfast this morning to the Clown House again. It was packed and we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. But it was worth the wait. There food is delicious. Rebecca had scrambled eggs, toast and bacon and orange juice. Jim had 2 huge belguim waffles and bacon, Joe had 2 eggs, home fries, scrapple toast, french toast, grapefruit juice, and I had a spanish omelet, toast and coffee. That omelet was delicious. It had tomato's, onions, peppers and cheese in it. I make mine different though, using ham, jalepeno peppers, tomato's, peppers and onions and a little warmed salsa on the top. Delicious!!!!

Mommom I had a new pacemaker put in. The stent is getting done on tuesday. There putting it in her kidney or near her kidney. She is weak, bored, and wants to come home, but she knows she can't right now. She'll be in the hospital for thanksgiving. She is not happy about that. I told Joe I will fix her up a little plate and he can take it to her. He said she will love that. Today she was getting surprise visitors. Joe's sons, Joe Jr and Nicky and Joe's grandson Wesley came over and went to the hospital with Joe to see their mommom. I just know she loved that. I will find out tomorrow from Joe how the visit went.

Back to school tomorrow, yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. I am looking forward to getting out and being in the classroom again. I was able to get to the thrift store last week. I found a pair of almost new Nike airlift sneakers that actually fit me and are so comfortable. I also found lots of clothes for myself, and a couple christmas decorations and a pillow to brighten up my all black couch. Green tags were the half price that day, and everything I bought had a green tag, so instead of paying 58.00, I paid 29.00. My items filled 3 13 gallon trashbags. Yep, I found alot and I am happy. I'll have pictures soon. I have to clear out my camera. It seems that my 6yr old photographer has been at it again taking pics, lol. She loves taking pics of the tv. I asked her why. She says, so I can remember the shows I watched, lol. Kid is too much.

Well, I am tired so I guess I am going to call it a night. I have been up since6:20 this morning. I see some of you are getting snow already. Ewwwwww, I am not looking forward to that. It is 42 degree's outside right now and raining. Good night all.

Love ya................................CINDY

PS. I can't for the life of me remember how to keep my tags animated in journal. Can anybody help me on that, please?

It's up to GOD now

Mommom I isn't doing well. She is tired, in pain and so very weak. Yesterday she had a Pacemaker put in because her heart would stop for 1 to 5 seconds every time they put pressure on a vein with their stethoscope. Today she went into surgery again to have a stent installed. Well they had just got started and realized the pacemaker wasn't working properly. The line going to one of the arteries had come out, so they stopped surgery and closed up the spot where they had cut. Tomorrow they will be replacing the pacemaker and putting in the stent. It's a 40/60 on the surgery. 40 being her chances to come through the surgery. Joe is worried and scared for his Mom. He is so upset he broke down and cried in my kitchen. It broke my heart to see him this way and I just hugged him and let him cry. His Mom is his world. Out of her 4 children, Joe is the closest to her. He will do anything for her. He said he has never seen his Mom this ill. He says she looks as though she is giving up and just wants to sleep forever because of the pain she is in. Her 96 pound body is so frail, and she is so pale. Her movements are so slow, because her energy level is about a zero right now. The doctor said if she can get through the next 72 hours, she may have a chance of a full recovery, but right now she is in God's hands until that pacemaker and stent are installed. I am asking you for prayers, good thought's and good vibes for Joe's Mom. Rebecca is very upset that mommom I is so ill. She asked me if she was going to die. All I could tell her was that mommom was very sick and tonight before she gets into her bed, to add mommom to her prayers and ask god to make her better. She said I miss mommom and want her to come home. I had to fight back those tears I felt forming. Even though Joes Mom is not Rebecca's real Mommom, this child has grown very close to her and she considers her Mommom, as we all do. Joe was very depressed when he went back downstairs. I had Jim go downstairs and keep an eye on Joe for a while. At least until he gets tired and says he's going to bed. I told Joe if he gets a phone call from the hospital during the night, to call up here and I will drive him to center city to the hospital. All we can do now is hope and pray this beautiful loving lady can get through the next 72 hours. Please god, please give mommom the strenghth to get through this. AMEN.

A BooBoo and Turkey Day menu

I don't know how many times I have told her not to run down the steps or she is going to fall, does she listen? Nope. The other night we had pizza delivered, she went running to the door with her Daddy, got down to the last 4 steps and wham, face first into the rug off the 4th step. I know it hurt, because she started crying, and she never cries. She'll just say I'm ok. Not this time. She came running to me in tears. Scared the hell out of me. She is ok, just a little brush burn on her nose.

I have to be at the school at noon today. Noon to 3pm I will be helping the teacher.

ok, so here's my menu for Thanksgiving Day. Sorry if I make you hungry.

Turkey stuffed and roasted, baked honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade coleslaw, homemade baked beans, green beans made with pearl onions and pimento's, pasta salad, buttered corn, deviled eggs, stuffed cherry tomatoes with crab meat, cranberry sauce, mashed yam's baked with marshmallow topping, fresh veggie tray with my homemade dip, made with sour cream, roasted red peppers and toasted garlic. Homemade baked bread, pumpkin pies, sweet potato pies, and apple pies, plus a pan of Apple Brown Betty, and lots and lots of coolwhip. Coffee, soda's, iced tea.

Ok I think I remembered it all, lol. Are you hungry yet? I am, lol.

I hear thunder and it is raining, so I better go now. Hope everyone has a great day.

Love to all.................................CINDY

Have you ever wrestled with a turkey?  I have, and this made me laugh.  It is really an ad for a pre-cooked turkey, but so funny!

WHY NOT!!!!!!

The Game is on!!! And you're IT!

Describe ME in one word.....just one single word. (and it can't rhyme with "itch") Post it in my comment section. Then put the same request in your journal so we can visit you… and do the same thing… and see how many strange and interesting things they say about you.

Come on you know you wanna play, lol. Leave your link so I can come see.

A quick note

Rebecca and I are both feeling yucky today, so we're playing hooky from school, lol. Actually we both have a stomach ache. Jim had a stomach virus last week, so I think maybe we caught it from him, grrrrrrr.

The insurance for Rebecca will become effective December 1st. I am so happy about that. It took a big load off my mind for sure. I told her I have no insurance either, and she gave me a toll free number for a place called ADULT BASIC. They provide insurance for adults who have no coverage and can't afford their own private insurance. I will be calling them today for an application.

It's raining here today and suppose to go up to 62 degree's.

Joe was able to speak to his Mom's heart doctor yesterday. He recommends Mommom I have a pacemaker put in. So tomorrow morning she is being admitted into the hospital for surgery and getting a pacemaker. Please say a prayer for her ok? Joe talked to his boss and told him he needs to be available for his mom. The boss said since work is slow right now, Joe can have the next 4 to 5 weeks off and can collect unemployment for those weeks. Joe is happy about that. He can be home with his mother and make sure she eats and drinks properly and goes to her doctor visits. She'll be 100% in no time with Joe taking care of her.

Well, that's about it for now. I am going to lay on the couch for a while. Then get dressed and try and do some housework. Hope you all have a great day.

One more thing. Were alerts working yesterday? I put lots of pics in yesterdays entry.

Love you all.....................CINDY

ps. Getting my christmas card list ready. If anyone wants a card from me, email me your address please. And if you want to send a card let me know and I will give you my address.

My Sunday

I had a lovely time yesterday. I was exhausted, but that's ok. I fixed dinner, fried chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, buttered corn. Everyone enjoyed their food. I made so much fried chicken, that Jim took 4 pieces to work for lunch and Emma took 9 pieces home. Emma washed the dishes for me. I was so greatful. Daniel enjoyed watching the Eagles game. He'd throw his arms up and yell touch down along with everyone else. He was so cute. It was so cute watching Daniel and Marissa and Rebecca playing together, but wow were they noisey, lol. By 8:15 Daniel was asking to go home. He was tired.

I have to cut this entry short. I have a insurance rep from CHIPS coming here in an hour and I want to get Rebecca dressed, myself dressed and straighten up the apartment a little before she gets here. It is to enroll Rebecca into an insurance program, so I have medical, dental and eye care for her. Have a nice day all.

Rooster graphics and scrapple

For those who do not know what scrapple is:

Scrapple is a savory mush in which cornmeal and flour, often buckwheat flour, are simmered with pork scraps and trimmings, then formed into a loaf. Small scraps of meat left over from butchering, too small to be used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Scrapple is best known as a regional food of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.

Scrapple is typically made of hog offal, such as the head, heart, liver, and other scraps, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth. Once cooked, bones and fat are discarded, the meat is reserved, and (dry) cornmeal is boiled in the broth to make a mush. The meat, finely minced, is returned, and seasonings, typically sage, thyme, savory, and others are added. The mush is cast into loaves, and allowed to cool thoroughly until gelled. The proportions and seasoning are very much a matter of the region and the cook's taste.

Commercial scrapple often contains these traditional ingredients, with a distinctive flavor to each brand. A few manufacturers have introduced beef and turkey varieties and color the loaf to retain the traditional coloration derived from the original pork liver base.

Vegetarian scrapple, made from soy protein or wheat gluten, is offered in some places. It is seasoned to be much sweeter than typical meat scrapple.

Scrapple is typically cut into quarter-inch slices, and pan-fried until the outsides form a crust. It is sometimes coated with flour or fried in butter or oil. A breakfast food, it is eaten plain or with apple butter, ketchup, pancake syrup, or even mustard and accompanied by eggs.

In some regions, such as New England, scrapple is mixed with scrambled eggs and served with toast.

Scrapple is arguably the first pork food invented in America. The culinary ancestor of scrapple was the Low German dish called Panhas, which was adapted to make use of locally available ingredients. The first recipes were created more than two hundred years ago by Dutch colonists, who settled near Philadelphia and Chester County, Pennsylvania in the 17th and 18th centuries[1].

Scrapple is strongly associated with Philadelphia and surrounding eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. Among the Pennsylvania Dutch and in Appalachia, scrapple is known as pawn haas or pon haus, a term hailing back to the old German dish. It can be found in most supermarkets throughout this region in both fresh and frozen refrigerated cases. It can sometimes be found in cities farther from this area, even as far away as Los Angeles, in frozen form.

A Tribute to our men and women of war

My Morning thus far

Good Morning!!!!! Hope everyone is up, had their coffee or tea and a nice hot breakfast. We here have had a nice morning. Yesterday Jim installed a new toilet in our bathroom, and as a thank you Joe took us out to breakfast this morning. We went to a place called The Clown House. It's just a small place open from 5:30am til 2:pm. They only serve breakfast and lunch. I had what was called The He-Man breakfast. I got it because I shared it with Rebecca. It came with 1 pancake, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices bacon, 1 sausage, 2 slices of toast, hashbrowns and coffee and orange juice. Rebecca ate the pancake, half the eggs, slice of the toast, slice of bacon and half the sausage and drank the orangejuice. She was hungry this morning. All that food was only 5.95. Jim had 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hashbrowns, toast and coffee, 4.25. Joe had 2 eggs, grits, scrapple, toast, orange juice and coffee, 4.75. There food is fabulous and you get more then your moneys worth. I am stuffed.

Jim is at the laundry mat right now. Later around noon he and Rebecca are leaving and going to a friend of Jim's to watch the game today. Rebecca will get to play with the twin girls again today. They get along so well together. While they are gone I will clean my livingroom and make the beds. Emma and Dan and my grandkids are coming over later this afternoon. I am gonna fix some fried chicken, stove top stuffing, buttered corn, gravy and mashed taters for supper. I'll have them stay to eat, that way Emma won't have to worry about cooking when they go home and she can visit here longer.

Jim had to call our grandson Daniel last night. I told him Daniel has gone peepee in his potty 5 times this past week and he is only 2 1/2 yrs old. Jim called him and said, Daniel your a good boy going potty. Poppop is so happy. Daniel says I pee in potty poppop, me go fishing now, lol. You see Poppop told him when he starts using the potty and doesn't wear diapers no more he will take him fishing. So I guess Daniel wants to go fishing with his poppop, because he has been using that potty. And he will only wear pull-ups now cause he said their for big boys, lol.

Joe will find out around noon whether or not his mom is being released today or not. Mommom I lives with her daughter, son in law and 2 teenage grandsons. The boys are either in school or at one of their sports games. Both boys do soccer, basketball and hockey. And both the parents work full time and each boy has one of the parents with them during a game. So Mommom is usually at home alone until 9pm sometimes. So there is no one to remind her or to make sure she is eatting and drinking properly. I think Joe will soon be having his Mom move in with him. Emma says days that I am at the school she will come over and make sure mommom has eatten and is drinking plenty of water. I won't be at the school everyday all day, some days I will be there from 8:30am til 11am and other days 12noon til 3pm. That way I am not so tired and stressed and can still have a little "ME" time. When I am not at the school I will keep an eye on Mommom.

I guess that is about all there is at this time to write about. I hope all are well and having a nice weekend. Keep warm those in cooler parts cause it is cold outside, brrrrrrrrrrrr.

Love to all...................................

Update on Mommom I

I just wanted to let you know about Joe's Mom. After tests were done, they found out she was severely dehydrated. She forgets she has to drink at least 12 bottles of water a day and sometimes forgets to eat. Bt being dehydrated her blood pressure went up real high and she felt like she was having a heart attack. They are keeping her overnight and pumping her full of fluids through an IV. If all goes well, she may be released tomorrow. Joe is considering having his Mom move in with him. Right now she lives with her daughter, son in law and 2 grandsons. No one is home all day to keep an eye on her to make sure she is eatting and drinking. Anyways thank you all for your prayers for Mommom I.

I am going to bed now. I am exhausted.

Love ya all,            CINDY

To all of you

To all my Keepers!!!!!!!

Their marriage was good, their dreams focused.

Their best friends lived barely a wave away.

I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a
house dress, lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other.

It was the time for fixing things. A curtain rod, the kitchen radio,
screen
door, the oven door, the hem in a dress.

Things we keep.

It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy.

All that re-fixing, eating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful.
Waste meant affluence.

Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.

But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth
of
the hospital room, I was struc k with the pain of learning that sometimes
there isn't any more.

Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never
to
return.

So...

While we have it... it's best we love it... And care for it.... And fix it
when it's broken..... And heal it when it's sick.

This is true... For marriage.... And old cars.... And children with bad
report cards..... Dogs and cats with bad hips.... And aging parents....
And
grandparents.

We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some
things
we keep.

Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.

There are just some things that make life important, like people we know
who
are special.... And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper', so I've sent it
to
the people I think of in the same way...............which is all of you!!!!!!!

I survived 25 kids

I survived 2 full days of a classroom containing 25 kids each day. I am exhausted, totally. Today I signed papers to be a legal volunteer at the school. For it to turn into maybe a part time or even full time job with pay, I was given 2 forms to fill out and send in for a child abuse back ground check and a criminal background check. After I volunteer for 100 hours, they (the school) will have a meeting and deside if I am an asset to the school and worth hiring as a permanent employee of the school. There can also be oppertunities where I could be asked to substitute one day a week but for the kindergarten classes only. But that's only if I learn the corriculum and pass the criminal and abuse background checks, which I will pass.

On my list now is to get some comfy shoes and decent clothes to wear. My clothes are horrible, stained, and just plain ugly. Guess I will be going to Goodwill this weekend to see what I can find there. Shoes I have a big problem with. I have a very wide foot and my feet swell on the tops making it hard to slip anything on. Even my sneakers don't fit anymore. I cannot wear shoes the have even the slightest point. The toe area has to be rounded, sort of like waittress shoes, nursing shoes. Right now with the shoes I am wearing my feet hurt so bad. It feels like knives being pushed in and pulled out constantly, OUCH!!!!!!!!

Anyways I am very excited over this all. Am I too old for this though? I am 46 and my health is not 100% Some of the kids, well let's say over half of them are the most ignorant, rude, obnoxious little critters. I swear their deaf. But then there's the one's who are so good, answer all the questions and are so quiet and so well behaved that makes being there so worth it. And I think it is so cute how they were saying Rebecca's Mom when they needed my help. I told them to call me Miss Cindy. So all day I heard Miss Cindy, Miss Cindy, lol, and I loved it.

Well, I will go now. I have to get a few things done. I promise I will get to all your journals over the weekend. I have the next 3 days off. Monday is no school. I just wanted you all to know that I haven't forgotten about you. And I do miss hearing all about what's going on.

Marissa's costume and more

Hello. I figured I'd better get an entry of some sorts posted. Above are pictures of my oldest granddaughter Marissa modeling her halloween costume for you all. She was a Unicorn. I think this costume is so cute on her. Marissa had a doctor's appointment yesterday. She is 4ft 1 inch. She has lost 13% more of her body fat, which is absolutely wonderful. The doctor told Emma to keep doing what she's doing to help Marissa lose the excess weight. Marissa got a chicken pox shot and a TB test. She got an eye exam, and the doctor wants her to go see an eye doctor. And her blood pressure was a little high, but I think it was because she knew she was getting shots and Marissa doesn't like needles. She also noticed the circles around her eyes and asked about her sleeping patterns. Marissa has never slept more then 6 hours. She gets up at night numerous times, this child could go to bed at midnight and be up before the roosters. So they want Emma to take her to a specialists and have an sleep apnea test done. The doctor gave Marissa a prescription for an allergy medicine to help her breathe at night, because Marissa sleeps with a fan like I do because she has problems breathing.

Tomorrow my granddaughter Adrianna has a doctor's appointment. I can't wait to find out how much weight she has gained. Her little legs are starting to fill out. She is such a piggy too. That girl loves to eat.

Tomorrow will be my first day as the teachers aide. She needs someone to help serve and clean up breakfast, collect Behavior folders and make sure it was initialed by a parent, check homework folders and make sure homework was completed. And put in homework sheets for that nights homework. Help in keeping the kids quiet and seated while the teacher is talking to them. Walk them down to lunchroom and get the situated with trays of lunch and seated. Then afterwards it is 15 minutes outside in the kindergarten play yard. Then back to the classroom and get them settled down and quiet. At 2pm I help get their snack ready and pour the juice for each child. While their having a snack I get out their behavior charts and mark either a 1, 2, 3, or 4 in the block for that day. I am excited that I will be spending the day in Rebecca's class. The teacher said she may need me friday also. I told her I'm available.

I have about 150 journal alerts to read. I will get to them, I promise. I will read a few tonight and tomorrow night, then get to the rest over the weekend. I went and picked up my free turkey from ShopRite where if you spend 300.00 within a month you get a free turkey up to 21 pounds, then it was to Acme where I got a free 10 pound ham. It saved me over 55.00. Both will be cooked for Thanksgiving. So far 18 of us will be here for dinner. I wonder how many pounds of potatoes I gotta peel for mashed potatoes? LOL Or how many pies I have to make? Next entry I make I will tell you what the full menu is for thanksgiving dinner.

Well, I guess that's about it. I am gonna go read a couple alerts then get ready and go to bed. Your all in my prayers tonight. Each and everyone of you.

So Precious

Good evening. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend thus far. My weekend today consisted of folding laundry, and making a big pot of homemade cream of chicken noodle soup and bisquits. Beings today was so windy and cold, I decided a nice hot pot of soup would warm the belly. And it did.

Tomorrow I will spend the day giving this apartment a good vacuuming and dusting. It really needs it. Jim's gonna put Rebecca's bike and her old carseat in the garage tomorow, so I can clean the downstairs hall. I want to get this apartment spic and span, because Thanksgiving dinner is being cooked and eatten here this year. I told Emma since I do most of the cooking anyways then have to drive it over to her house, it makes more sense to just cook and eat here. I will be making a traditional turkey dinner and also a ham dinner, and will be throwing in a couple italian sides, since Emma's husband and his brothers are italians.

Yesterday was a nice day. I was at Emma's during Adrianna's bath time. She looked so precious laying there in her little tub. And not once did she cry. She loves bath's. Afterwards she was all bundled up in her bath towel. She looked so adorable. Emma dressed her in one of the outfits I bought for her. And look at her hair, lol. She needed it brushed, don't you think? She had a nice warm bottle of Mommie's milk and I got to feed her the bottle. Emma wanted to get her laundry caught up, so I took care of the baby. She drank all her bottle, gave me a couple good burps and off to sleep she went.

I fixed a late breakfast for everyone on friday. I made sausage, egg and cheese bisquits and bacon, egg and cheese bisquits. They were delicious. Dan's job sent everyone home early, so by the time breakfast was finished he arrived home and was able to enjoy a breakfast. He ate 3 of them, lol.

My Rebecca wasn't feeling well tonight. She ran out of the livingroom and into the kitchen and threw up in trashcan. Sorry for saying it like that. Earlier she complained of a belly ache. She told me that yesterday in school 2 kids were sent home because they threw up. So I guess maybe a stomach virus is going around in her classroom. I put some warm pajamas on her, and covered her with 2 blankets and she fell right to sleep. Jim is asleep also. I won't be up too much longer. I have been up since 5am. I don't know why I can't sleep more then 4 to 5 hours. I have to put away the soup I made. There's enough left to have tomorrow with sandwiches for dinner. So that is my plan for dinner.

I guess that is all there is to write about. I'm gonna read some email and then get ready for bed. I hope your all enjoying your weekend.

Love to all..........................

Hello my friends

I finally got a chance to hopefully do an entry. Last night when we came home I was just exhausted. I sat here nodding off and had to go to bed. We had a great night. Rebecca had an awesome time out with her friends. Those lil girls are twins and are 7yrs old. They are the daughter's of Brian who works with Jim. Brian was Michael Meyers in the photo's. He was walking the neighborhood, hiding in the darkness and when groups of people came, he came out of the dark, people screamed and ran. I even saw a few men run away, lmao. The Boogie man on the porch was Brians BIL. I walked so much. I'm guessing a good mile and a half. I almost didn't make the last block back to Brians house. My hip was grinding and felt as though it was on fire. My legs were stinging and my feet were throbbing. I stopped for about 2 minutes and finally made it to Brians. Jim knew I was hurting. He opened the side van door so I could sit down. I was hurting so bad I could of cried. Jim knew I was hurting and needed to go home. So he said our goodbyes, gathered up Rebecca and got her seatbelted, then helped me get up into the passengers side seat. I would rather be in labor then feel that pain again that I was in last night. It took me 10 minutes to climb the 14 steps up to our apartment. I sat down when I got up here and 5 minutes later my child wanted to go to bed. Jeez, I'm in pain, can I sit for a few more minutes? NOPE, she wanted to go to bed. Off came her costume, she washed her face and hands, brushed her teeth and got into her bed. She was asleep instantly. My poor baby was exhausted. I got into my pajamas, down loaded the pics, started an entry and then the sandman hit me with a 50 pound bag of sand. Sleep, I needed sleep. I deleted the entry and off to bed I went. I didn't wake up til 5:30am. It took forever to get out of bed. I was so stiff and sore. It was time for a dose of pain medicine. I took 2 Percogesic's. Wow, in 20 minutes the pain was almost gone. They worked better and faster then my usual Tylenol Arthritis.

I took Jim to work, Rebecca to school. Read and commented in some journals. Then I cleaned the house. It really needed it badly. I still have things to do in the kitchen, but I'll get to that over the weekend. I made a nice dinner tonight. I cooked an oven stuffer chicken with homemade stuffing. Gravy and mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce. I am going to make a nice pot of chicken and dumplings with the remaining chicken, gravy and broth for tomorrow. I'll add some egg noodles to it, because Rebecca won't eat dumplings.

I went and did my grocery shopping today. Lifted a bag not knowing the bagger made it so heavy, my wrist must of gotten sprained or something, because I let out a scream and dropped the bag back into the cart. So, it's back to using the left hand again, grrrrrrr. I really need an ace bandage, so tomorrow I will go to walgreens and get one.

Jim went and did the laundry tonight after work. Joe went with him and helped, lol. I thought that was funny. But they left the folding for me to do, grrrrrrrrr, lol. Well, it is 11:46pm and 52 degree's outside. I wish I had a screened in porch, I would love to sit out in it right now. This is my kind of weather. It was 69 today and I had all my windows open. It was great. I heard there's a storm named NOLE coming to the east coast. I hope it pitters itself out, and doesn't cause any serious damage in it's path.

Rebecca had a visit to the dentists at school today. She got her teeth cleaned, flouride treatment and 3 teeth sealed that her other dentists had missed. Other then that he said she had great teeth. Whew I was happy about that too.

I didn't get any pics of my granddaughter Marissa in her costume. I will get some though. I guess that is about it for what I have been doing.

I do want to thank LisaJo and Lisa for the lovely sympathy cards I received in the mail. Thank you so much for thinking of me. And also I want to thank Amanda for the lovely halloween card I received in the mail. I keep all my cards I receive from all of you.

I love you all....................
