I have so many hobbies I love to do such as, cooking, crocheting, embroidery, reading VC. Andrews books, taking pictures, playing on my computer. But I think my most favorite hobby is post card collecting. I love post cards, and the older they are the better I like them. I've been collecting them for about 20 years now. Some were given to me, some were found by me. The ones I have are from 1950 to 1973. I need to buy some sort of album to keep them in. Right now I have them in an envelope. But anyways, I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to share some of my favorite postcards with you. I have about a 100 of them, but I won't bore you with all of them. The first 3 were given to me by my brother.
This first one is the statue of David, who gives you the look as though he is concentrating. It was started in 1501 and was finished in 1504. The artist was MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI. He was born in Caprese, Italy in 1475 and dies in 1564.
This next one was done by the same artist in 1520 and finished in 1534. It is called The Virgin And Child also known as MEDICI MADONNA. The detail in this is just awesome.
Here is another of this artists master pieces. It is called the Tomb of Julius II: Moses. This statue was started in 1505 and wasn't finished until 1545. The detail and hard word BUONARROTI put into his work is just amazing. Can you imagine starting a project and having it take 40 years to finish? Amazing, just amazing.
I hope you enjoyed these postcards and a little bit of their history. I have more to share, but photo bucket and my computer are going slow and I have DSL, grrrrrrrr. So gonna restart computer and will come back and show you more of my favorites.
Til then.......................choi
