When I wrote the story of what I went through with Cancer I did'nt have a pic to add to it. But thanks to my cousin Carmen for scanning a pic for me and emailing it to me, I now have one. I warn you I am not a pretty sight. I was swollen and so discolored. I looked like I was beat up. The swelling is'nt even half of what it was the couple month's after surgery. This pic was taken in Sept 2005, on Rebecca's 4th birthday. My hair was almost gone then. I felt like crap that day and could'nt enjoy a piece of cake, but I did put the candles on it for her. Chemo had a nasty side effect, one I hated. I would swell, hands and legs terribly. Maybe it was all that saline solution I got all the time, lol. I can't use salt, it does make me swell up. Anyways here I am. Do you see why I said I felt like a freak? Cause I really did feel like one.
Awful looking huh? I hope I never have to go through that again. It was the worst 2 years of my life.

Cindy, darlin.. you are alive! That is what matters! When I was going through my chemo, I looked like crap too! No hair ANYWHERE! Not an attractive sight. I know what you mean about the bloating, and the after tastes that the chemo leaves in your mouth. Blech. But.. WE ARE ALIVE! We lived to tell our story! So, you know what? You are beautiful Cindy! :)

You know what you may have felt like crap that day, but what a joyous day it was that you were sitting there able to enjoy your baby's birthday. You were using everything inside you to live. I hope that you never have to go through that again too.
