Life goes on

It's been almost 2 weeks since I wrote here? I'd better get you all updated huh. Well, let's see. Dan spent 8 days in the hospital, and let me tell you those 8 days were so worth it. He is so much better. He found out all his pain and suicidal thoughts were caused from the medication he is on. They switched his doses, gave him stronger pain meds and he is a new man. He still is in pain, but instead of pain level being a 10, it's down to a 2, which is great. He now takes 20mg oxycodone 4 to 6 times a day, and a morphine pill 4 to 6 times a day. He can't lift, run, jog or anything like that, but he walks better. The kids are so glad he is home, especially Daniel. He had a hard time the first few days adjusting to not having his daddy tuck him in at night. So, it was mommom to the rescue. I printed out a pic of Dan, taped it next to Daniel's bed and every night he'd kiss daddy's picture and say I love you daddy, sweet dreams. I swear that lil boy melts my heart. We have nasty colds going around now. Marissa had one last week, and missed a day of school due to it, now this week the baby has got herself a real doozey of a cold and I think Emma is coming down with a cold now too. The baby and Emma are both sleeping right now. Jim and Dan are out to breakfast along with the girls and Daniel. It is daddy daughter day on sundays. Rebecca wanted Daniel to go too, so the 5 of them are at the Clown House having breakfast. I love that place. You order a big breakfast for $5.95 and you get 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, fried potatoes, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 slices of toast, glass orange juice and coffee. One of thos big breakfast will feed all 3 of the kids.
Well, the lady who hit my van is already driving around with her van fixed. Where's my van? In the shop still. Why? Cause we're waiting for her insurance company to issue the check for 1189.00 to the body shop so I can go pick up my van. It has been done for a week now. I have called and called GEICO to see what the hold up is and all I get is someones voice mail. Tomorrow the bodyshop is calling them. All I know is I better get my van back real soon, because now I'm starting to get upset.
The girls got their school pics back, and might I say they are so cute. I will scan them so I can show them to you later today. Emma doesn't get Marissa's pics done in school uniform, but I do. I want to see the uniform styles as each year passes. I've had to have Dan's mom fix Rebecca's uniforms. Her's were so big on her now that she's lost so much weight. She was 73 lbs now she is 61 lbs. She lost it because she isn't cooped up in a tiny apartment anymore. Here she has lots of room to run and play and their isn't a dozen or more snacks a day cause she was eatting out of boredom. I want to watch her now though. I don't want her losing anymore weight. Well, I now have all my health insurance cards, so tomorrow is the big day of making appointments. I always forget some of my symptoms when I get into doctor's office, so this time I wrote them all down, all 18 of the things that I have noticed wrong lately. Yes, 18 things wrong, that is not a good thing and I will be yelled at by all of my doctor's. The only part I hate about going is having to get the blood work done. Ever since the chemo my veins actually hurt and I do mean hurt. They collasp, explode. The only good vein is deep in the elbow bend of my right arm and man does it hurt when they try to get that needle in there to get blood. Well the family is back, so I'd better go. Hope everyone has a great holiday next week.

  11. That is so good about the weight loss. Children can be so cruel to each other, especially regarding being overweight. I do so hope they can decide what is wrong with you and it's an easy fix. The cold/flu is going around at our house too and we keep passing it around to each other. I've got it for the third time. I'm so glad you made a post. I missed your Thanksgiving entries with pictures of all the food you make and your menu. You have a lot to contend with there though so I understand. I'm so glad that Dan is home. The Clown House sounds like a great value for the whole family. Hope you all get to feeling better soon.

    Love you, Nelishia

  12. I am so glad Dan is feeling miles better Cindy!
As for your veins being sore and collapsing after your chemo treatment? I empathise with you as mine do that too. I am not a happy bunny when I go for bloods as it can be quite painful I had enough of needles during my chemo too.
Hope they get to the bottom of your symptoms.
Well done to Marissa too. She has done well..hasn't she?
    Hugs

  13. I was glad to read that Dan is out of the hospital and better, so that is important, as the whole family will be cheered up over that including his little boy who loves him so much. Poor little guy has probably experienced a lot of anxiety over this dad's accident and struggle to get better, but thank goodness he is here with him. Sorry to read that you have things wrong and I hope they aren't too serious. I do think that if someone has pressing family concerns as you have had, you have to tend to those, and the journalists will understand. Gerry http://gerry-daughters-of-the-shadow-men.blogspot.com
