Hot Enough!!!!!!

I bet the electric companies are sitting back rubbing their hands together, smiling and hearing the sound chaaaaaa chinggggggggg. Two days of 90+ degree's with heat index levels of over 100 degrees, will cause airconditioners to be running non-stop. I have both air conditioners on and it's 75 in here. I like it when it is 70 in my apartment, I can breathe better. I just got back from taking Emma home, and it felt as though I was back in the mojave desert again. It is so hot outside, I had to work my lungs and breathe deep.

 Mojave desert.

I lived in this desert for 3.5 years when Jim was in the army. Hated it. A summer day it would get up to 137 degree's. Ever heard the sying, It's so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk? Guess what? You can. I cracked open an egg during a hot summer day and the egg white turned white, no kidding. Only things I saw growing in the desert were tumble weeds and cactus looking things called Joshua Tree's. God awful ugly they are, lol. See for yourself in this next photo.

They couldn't send Jim someplace nice, tropical, noooooooo they stationed him in the desert, lol. Sand, wind storms, joshua tree's lots of tumble weed, big fuzzy spider's, lizzards, rattlesnacks and coyotes. Yep, hated it there. Ok, so that's what Philadelphia feels like right now to me. It is so hot, hazy, and humid you could cut the air with a knife. Jim called me earlier and said, Hun do not use the stove to cook dinner tonight. He's going to cook chicken out on the grill. Works for me, lol. I'll make up some veggie kabobs for him to cook also. He'll like that.

This hot weather really makes people cranky. As Rebecca and I were going in the gate at the end of the ramp here at the house, we hear screeching tires and a guy yelling. Someone ran the stop sign and almost hit him in his car. He yelled profound language and peeled wheels after the guy. I'm glad I am home, lol. I feel so bad that Jim is working out in this heat. I packed him a nice lunch and he took his cooler jug where I fixed him iced water with lemon slices in it. I put 5trays of icecubes in it to keep it cold for him. He's not a young man and needs to keep cool while at work in this heat. Jim will be 52 years old in 3 more days. If you'd like to email him birthday wishes or an ecard here's his email address: beccadadjim@aol.com

I think he'd like that. Rebecca and I will bake him a cake and make him a card like we always do. And Rebecca will sing happy birthday to him after he blows out the candle.

Yesterday Rebecca and I spent the day over Emma's. The girls played out in the pool and Daniel stayed indoors with his mommy and his mommom entertaining us. I snapped a picture of him. And guess what he was wearing?

Yep, that red christmas hat again, lol. He was so cute running around in a diaper, cut off tshirt, sandals and this darn hat, lol. If you take that hat, he will say Cry, and start crying. Awwww, I can't see him cry, so we left it on him. I asked him what he wanted for lunch. His answer: pickles and chippys. I went to the store bought german bologna, american cheese, rolls, pickles and chips and some juice. He ate all his lunch except for the bread, lol. Emma said if he had his way, he'd eat pickles for breakfast, lunch and dinner, lol.

I have done no housework today at all, lol. I just don't feel like it. I just wanna go take a nap. But not in my house. As soon as I fall asleep Rebecca will get into something, or one of the phones will ring or the doorbell. So, no nap for me. : (

And I hate going to bed early because I am up before 5:am. Once I am awake, I have to get up. I just watch the news or read my email until 6:am then I make the coffee so it's done when Jim gets up. Oh and ewwwwwww, you should see his chest and belly. It is all blistard up. Yuck it looks so gross. He tried to give Rebecca a hug before she went to bed last night and she wouldn't go near him, lol. He didn't have a shirt on. I had to drape a towel over his chest and stomach so she would let him hug her, lol. I know when it dries he'll be peeling like crazy. And itching too, lol. Yuck!!!!!!

Well, I guess I will go now. Gonna go fix up the veggie kabobs so there ready for when Jim starts cooking when he gets home from work. Stay cool, drink lots of water.

Love to all................................

Photo Hunt 113 Summer

SUMMER

I think my favorite things in the summer are watching my child and grandchildren play outdoors. Especially Marissa and Rebecca. They are only 2 weeks and 6 days apart in age (Rebecca being the oldest) and their more like best friends than aunt and niece. We took them to the beach yesterday and they had the best time. Jim and I enjoyed watching them play. So I would like to enclose this picture of them yesterday as my entry in the Photo Scavenger Hunt.

Check out the holding of hands, lol. Yep, best friends. And I hope it continues throughout their years of growing up.

Mr.Tomato or Cooked Lobster, lol.

I bet this big DUMMY wears sunblock next time. I asked him a dozen times if he wanted me to spray the sunblock on him, and each time he said, Noooooo, I'm ok. Yea right, sure you are.

I went and got him SOLARCAINE spray with Aloe in it. He's not in pain anymore. He hates when I spray him though. It feels ice cold hitting your hot skin, lol. Oh well, maybe he'll listen to me next time huh?

The Lamb of God

Think carefully about
What you will be reading.
This is a new one for me...

Mary! Had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
T'wasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.

And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!

Really? LOL

The Past 2 days/43 pictures

Let me just say I feel like I have been run over by a steam roller. I am tired, sore, every bone and muscle in my body feels as though it has been through a war. The past 2 days have really taken there toll on me. I now admit it. I am not 29 anymore, lol. I am 46 and a grandmother. I'll take my shawl, slippers and rocking chair now please. And a double dose of Geritol too, lol.

So, yesterday, I went over Emma's, and the kids wanted to go out and play. So, I sat out in the yard for 2 hours with them playing. I enjoyed watching them play, and Daniel chase the girls around the yard. Then he decided he wanted to collect rocks. This child loves rocks. Marissa begged me to go to the beach with us today. So, I gave in, (she knew I would). So, last night Emma dropped Marissa off to me at 6pm. The girls played til 9:pm then it was bedtime.

I woke them up at 6:am, to get ready. Jim was taking us to the beach. We went to Sea Side Heights. We left the house at 7:am. We were 5 minutes from the beach and Marissa throws up all over herself, the seat and the carpet, which in turn made Rebecca sick too. Jim finds a safe place to pull over. I clean up Rebecca, get her to stand outside the van near Jim. Get Marissa unbuckled and gt her out of the van and clean her up. The whole time she is crying and saying I'm sorry Mommom. Poor kid, it wasn't her fault and I told her that. It seemed to calm her down some. I got the trashbag, paper towels, spray cleaner, baby wipes and citrus wipes and cleaned up the entire mess, sprayed the seat and floor down with Fabreeze and put the kids back in the van. I was worn out by the time I got back in the van. We finally got to the parkinglot outside the bathroom and shower houses. We unload the car, umbrella, 2 chairs, cooler, basket of toys, bag of chips and the wipes, my cooler pack, and a small back pack holding my camera, cellphone, keys and the Coppertone spray SPF 50. That stuff is great. The girls were in the sun from 8:30 til 1:pm and didn't even burn. They had a great time playing in the sand and the water. By 1:pm I was ready to leave and so was Jim. We were worn out. I didn't get a pic of Jim but I will tomorrow. He is so red. He is fried. He took a shower when he got home, and went to bed with air conditioner on. Poor thing is hurting and I have nothing for it, except vinegar. If he gets up later I'll put some on him. It always takes the sting out of the sunburn. He'll smell like a salad, but at least he'll feel better. I didn't get burned. I sat under my beach umbrella in the shade.

It seemed like it took forever to get home. Jim took a shower, then I got the girls showered and clothes changed. Fixed them a sandwich and a glass of juice. Dan came over a few minutes after 6 to pick Marissa up. When 8pm rolled around, Rebecca was so ready for bed. She was so tired she didn't even want to brush her teeth. But after spending almost 1500.00 on dental bills for her, those teeth were brushed. She gave her daddy a kiss and hug, said goodnight to him and crawled into her bed. Her thumb was in her mouth before I even got the covers on her.

And yes, Lisa. I watchedPart 1 and Part 2 of CSI episode and it was awesome. Jim watched it with me. And I can tell you, we're both hooked, lol.

Well, that's about it I guess. I need to relax. I think I'll go make a cup of tea, play a game of Dice City Roller in POGO, and go to bed early myself. I am worn out, exhausted more then I have been in a long time.

I have a favor to ask of all of you. Could you pray for my cousin Carmen. She is trying to quit smoking. And is in need of some extra prayers. And as for her new Dog, Cooper. He saw the vet today and got a clean bill of health. Carmen said Cooper is healthy, teeth are great and his weight is perfect. Way To Go Cooper!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love to you all........................

GOOD MORNING

GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS. JUST WANTED TO POP IN AND SAY HI, BEFORE WE LEAVE. WE'RE GOING TO THE BEACH TODAY. I WILL BE BACK TONIGHT WITH LOTS OF PICS. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

A Thank you and pictures

Before I write anything of this entry or put any pictures in it, I have a message from my cousin to you all. She says to tell you all thank you so much for your prayers for Scooby and also for her to get the new dog she wanted for her son Chris. I am happy to say she got the dog. He is a 3yr old Beagle, with papers and his name is Cooper. My cousin says he is so playful and really keeps her and Chris busy, lol. My cousin sent me pics of Scooby, the coffin she decorated for him and pics of Cooper. So without further ado, here is Scooby.

Isn't he precious? I am gonna miss this little guy alot. As I sit here typing this the tears are rolling out of my eyes. Goodbye Scooby. I love you and will miss you.

These next 2 pics are of the coffin my cousin's boyfriend built, and my cousin decorated. She did a wonderful job, and so did her boyfriend.

 Just beautiful.

And now this is Cooper. I think he is adorable, and I can't wait to meet him.

 Chris and Cooper.

 Chilling, lol.

And he wants to play tug of war too, lol. Oh boy, I can tell already he definately will be keeping his new owners busy, lol. Hey Cuz, better get some running shoes for you and Chris. I think you might need them, lol. Anyways I am so happy they got Cooper. Chris has had Scooby so long, and I know he misses him. But now maybe Cooper can fill that void of not having Scooby there. So, from both my cousin and I, thank you so much for all your prayers and thoughts, and good wishes. And to my cuz, thank you girl for sending these pics. I have them saved so I can print them out. Can't wait to see you.

Love to all........................

My friend asks for prayers for her son

I have permission to put this article here in my journal from one of the people who were hurt during this. her son is Joesph Jacoby. She asks for prayers for her son. He may lose his muscle in his forearm and 2 fingers on same arm due to this tragedy. He lost allot of blood and surgery took 2 hours to stop the bleeding. Sarah (joeys mom) is one of my very good friends. We use to go to bingo together, shopping and she comes over here sometimes to stay the weekend.

Just in case

The man mentioned who is now wanted in the previous entry is no longer my daughter's husband. Her divorce from him was final on April 25, 2005. He is my grand daughter Marissa's biological father. In July of 2006 Emma married Dan. Her second husband. My grandson Daniel is the child of Emma and Dan. Her first husband is no longer in her life or in Marissa's life. In Marissa's eyes Dan is her Daddy and has been ever since Emma and Dan met. She calls Dan Daddy and not the biological Dad.

I am so very thankful and blessed that Emma divorced her first husband. I was against that marriage in the very beginning. As a matter of fact, I didn't even attend her first wedding. I refused to go and watch her make the biggest mistake of her life. And I was right, it was a mistake to marry him. The only good thing they came from that marriage was my grand daughter.

As for Emma's second husband, Dan. Whom she is married to and with now. He is the most loving, caring man. I am so happy and so proud to be able to call him my son in law. He is a wonderful husband to Emma and a terrific father for Marissa and Daniel. He would walk on hell and high waters for Emma, Marissa and Daniel. Dan loves Marissa just as though she was his biological daughter. I couldn't ask for a better son in law.

For those that couldn't access the link. It is a 30 page indictment against Emma's ex-husband and 2 female friends of his. The indictment is for Drug trafficing, insurance fraud, sale of drugs, intent to sell said drugs, unlawful possession of said drugs, etc, etc, etc.

As my Aunt Marge use to say when someone got into trouble: He's going up the river. Shit's creek without a paddle. God Bless you Aunt Marge. May you forever rest in peace.

Ok, so I hope this clear's up anything you didn't know. I was going to make this entry last night, but some severe storms rolled in and I had to shut down computer. So, I went to bed early, which is why I am typing this before 6:am. I slept 7 hours last night. That is so not me. Usually it is 4 to 5 hours.

So, now that I am up, and I have 221 emails, I think I will go make a pot of coffee and start looking at my email. I am so behind in alerts, and with the graphic group I am in. Oh, what happened with photo bucket? I had 2 accounts with them. Now I have one account. I lost a thousand graphics due to whatever upgrade they did. It really made me mad, because they were some of my most favorites. GRRRRRRRR.

Take care all. And I hope you have a great day.

Yesterday....Father's Day

Good Morning everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I woke up at 7:30 exhausted. I slept fine, but yesterday wore me out. I not only cooked for Jim and Uncle Joe, but I also had guests. Emma wasn't up to cooking a big meal, due to the stomach pains when she stands too long, so I invited them over here so Dan could have a special day also. Everyone had a great time, and ate lots. When they all seen all the food, all you heard was Oh My Gosh, Yummmmmmmm, lol. Dan looked at me and said, Mom I love you. I told him he only loves me cause theres lots of olives in the salad. We both started laughing, cause we know he does love olives, lol. As everyone was eatting the kabobs, they wanted to know what sauce I used because they tasted fabulous. I told them it's a secret, lol. I'll share it with you all though. I took a bottle of Kraft Honey Mustard BBQ sauce and poured it into a bowl. Added 1 cup of water and 1 cup orange juice, mixed it up. Poured it over kabobs and let it marinate for 2 hours. And as Jim was grilling them he spooned the sauce over the kabobs. They did come out awesome. Jim loved the limas. I made them the way his grandmother makes them for him, with butter and salt pork. He was a happy man, lol. Guess who else loves limas cooked that way? My lil man Daniel. He ate all his lima's and was saying more mommom, more. He is so much like Jim. And when Jim was holding him last night, Daniel ooked up at his Poppop and said, Poppop fishing. He wants to go fishing with his Poppop already. Yep, I think Jim's gonna have a lil buddy when Daniel gets older. He's gonna want to hang out with poppop alot. Jims already got plans for Daniel. He's going to teach him how to fish, hunt, go crabbing and play the guitar, lol.

Well, yesterday was beautiful. The Dad's, Jim, Joe and Dan enjoyed themselves, ate til they almost popped, lol, and enjoyed watching the kids play. Joe's sons Joe Jr who is an EMT and a volunteer fireman in Allentown, Pa, and Nicholas who is in the USAF in North Dakota both called him wishing him a Happy Father's Day. Those 2 phone calls made Joe a very happy man yesterday. His son Nicholas will be leaving the Air Force in August of this year. He willbe moving back here to Pennsylvania, and will be joining the Pennsylvania State Troopers. Joe is not too thrilled about his son becoming a police officer, but he says it's his son's choice. But on the bright side, he's happy because he'll get to see his grandson Wesley more often when Nicholas and Wesley move back to PA. Nicholas called his exwife, and told her they were moving in August. He asked her if she wanted to see Wesley before they moved. I cannot believe what she told him. Her words were, What for? He ain't my problem no more, he's yours. She gave up all her parental rights to this beautiful child last year, because she wanted to be free to do and see who she wants. I swear I wanna slap the stupid right out of her.

Well, back to yesterday, lol. About an hour after dinner, the kids all wanted dessert. So, Bill and I dished out Banana Cream Cake and Banana Split Icecream. Not a word was heard in the house while everyone ate their dessert, lol. I think they enjoyed the treat, lol. Before Emma and her family left, I packed up a couple kabobs, salad and roasted potatoes with garlic for Dan to take to lunch today. He was a happy man to get that treat for today.

I'm happy everyone had fun and the guys enjoyed their father's day meal. I enjoy cooking. And the more people I cook for the happier I am. I have had a dream for years to have my own restaurant or catering service. It'll never happen unless I hot the lottery, but for now I will just enjoy cooking for the people I love. When they are happy, I am happy.

Before I forget, I have a thank you to make. I want to thank Pam for the lovely card she sent me for my birthday. Thank you girlfriend, it is a beautiful card. I also wanted to thank all of you who emailed me cards on my birthday. I never felt so special on any birthday then I did for this past one. I also received a card from my sister Lucy. Thanks Sis, love it. Her daughter Donna will let her know I got it.

So, what's on my agenda today? Something I am not looking forward to doing, lol. And that is cleaning and doing all the dishes from yesterday. I was just too worn out to worry about the kitchen last night. And this morning I woke up to a sore back from all the standing preparing that food yesterday. I'll take acouple Tylenol Arthritis and in an hour I will be fine, I hope.

So, take care everyone, keep cool if your on the east coast. We're suppose to get a 3 day heatwave, yuck. I'll be staying indoors with the air on high for the next 3 days for sure. I hope everyone is doing well and had a great day yesterday.

Love you all...........................

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Dad. May you forever rest in peace.

MAY 25, 1937-SEPTEMBER 4, 2005

Everything

Good Morning Jland. And a Happy Father's Day goes out to all the guys today. What's everyones plans for today? Mine is to fix Jim blueberry pancakes for breakfast, and later today cooking shish kabobs on the grill, along with corn on cob, oven roasted baby potatoes, which I bought 5 pounds of at farmers market yesterday, cooked limas with salt pork, a big salad, deviled eggs, and for dessert there is Banana Cream Cake and Banana Split Icecream.  I think he'll enjoy his feast today. I have invited Joe up for dinner also. He is alone today for Father's Day.

Everyone is still asleep here. I have been up since 5:30. I like getting up early and enjoying the quiet before Jim and Rebecca get up. I don't get much time to myself, except for early mornings. It means I am totally drained by 8pm when Rebecca goes to bed, and want to crawl in bed myself, but then I don't get to talk to Jim for a bit or watch TV. Last night I was so worn out. I got Rebecca into bed, sat at computer and was going to make an entry. Closed my eyes just for a second, and woke up a couple hours later, lol. Some second huh? I shut off computer and went to bed. Well, so much for my quiet time. Guess who just walked into livingroom? Yep, the child is up.

Weather man says we're having a heat wave for the next few days. Lovely. Guess I'll be staying indoors with the air on, otherwise I can't breathe.

Yesterday Jim and Rebecca and I went to New Jersey to Columbus Market. I love that place. Great deals on produce. I spent 32.00 there and got blueberries, strawberries, cherries pears, lemons, baby potatoe's, yams, green beans, brocoli, tomatoes, green and red bell peppers, jar of fresh peeled garlic, and garlic powder, onion poder, garlic pepper, and spice for cooked shrimp or crabs.

Gas was about 35 cents cheaper a gallon in Jersey then it is here in Philadelphia, so Jim filled the tank. That'll last all week. I made no dinner last night. Rebecca fixed her own. She made herself a bologna and cheese sandwich with mustard, lol. Jim and I had tomato and mayonaise sandwich. In a few weeks we'll go back to Columbus Market and get more produce.

My cousin is going to send me a nice picture of Scooby to share with you all. Then you'll be able to see why he was loved so much. She told me she is going to see a lady who has a 3yr old Beagle. She has to find him a home cause her child is allergic to the dog. She said the Beagle's favorite snack is baby carrots. Could you say a prayer that my cousin gets this dog? Her son really wants another dog. Even though her heart is broken losing her Scooby, she would do anything to make her son happy.

Well, I know I have more I wanted to write, but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was. I am finding I forget alot of things lately. Old Age? LOL Or maybe the 8 mos of chemo killed my brain cells. Who knows. I better start writing things down huh?

I guess I'd better go now and make the coffee. And when Jim gets up fix his breakfast. I have a busy day today of cooking for him. He deserves it though. He's a hard worker, a great daddy and a loving husband, who would do anything for me or his kids and grandkids.

So give your guys lots of hugs and kisses today and make their day extra special.

LOVE TO YOU ALL....................................

Being Silly

Where have all the Grandma's gone?
In the dim and distant past
When life's tempo wasn't so fast,
Grandma used to rock and knit,
Crochet, tat and baby sit.
When the kids were in a jam,
They could always call on Gram.
But today she's in the gym
Exercising to keep slim.
She's checking the web or surfing the net,
Sending some e-mail or placing a bet.
Nothing seems to stop or block her,
Now that Grandma's off her rocker.

But right now this Grandma is going to go run herself a nice hot bubble bath, and relax in the tub a while. My body is calling, no screaming for a soak in hot water. I'll be back after I turn all wrinkled like a raison, lol.

Love ya all...................CINDY

Rest in peace Scooby

Thank you everyone for your prayers for my cousins doggie, Scooby. I am sad to say Scooby passed away. My cousin informed me he died peacefully. She said he was very ill, and his old age didn't help much. A friend of her's built a wooden box with a lid. My cousin painted the top to make it look pretty. They placed Scooby in the box and he was burried in another friends yard under an apple tree. Scooby will be missed by so many, including me. I loved that lil guy sooooooooo much. He was the best behaved, and lovable dog I had ever met. I have cried so much tonight my eyes hurt. I cried because Scooby is gone and I'll never see him again, and I cried for my loving cousin for I know she is hurting losing her baby Scooby. I wish I had a good picture of Scooby to post, but I do not have one. I don't even know what breed of dog he was. All I know is, he was small, curly white hair and adorable.

Rest in Peace Scooby. I shall miss you.

My Day Today

Forty six years ago today, I was born to my parents Norman Carl Smith and Emma Marie Williams Smith. It seems like a life time ago. So, much has happened in my life during these 46 years. I lost my Mom to cancer when I was 9 yrs old. I ran away from home at 17, never going back. I was raped because of a so called best friend's drug debt. I met my husband and married him 3 weeks after the day we met. And 28 years, 2 month's and 19days later, we're still together. I have 2 beautiful daughter's, whom I love dearly, and 2 grand children I love spoiling. Another grand daughter being born in September and can't wait to spoil her. My Grandson Michael was born stillborn in 1998 and that ripped my heart apart. My niece Sandy died in 2003, just 12 days after giving birth to her son Christopher. Then in 2005 my Dad was found floating face down in the creek near his home. And just recently my very dear friend Kathy passed away. I battled cancer for 2 years and I am a survivor. I think all that has happened in my life, has made me the person I am today. Now I take each day and enjoy it. I live my days as they are my last. I don't hold grudges, I show as much love as I can, and I try my best to keep those around me happy, healthy and safe. I embrace each day with love. I hug my children and grand children and let them know I love them each and every day. On this day, I do not celebrate my birthday with balloons, cake and icecream. I celebrate this day because I have lived another year. Another year to love the people I care about my family and my friends. I awakened 5am this morning. I couldn't sleep for some reason. I got up, and turned on computer and what did I find? Over 50 electronic cards wishing me a Happy Birthday. I sat here and read everyone of them with eyes full of tears. Not sad tears, but happy tears. People I have never met, and only read about all wishing me a Happy Birthday. I felt so special, so loved. And to all of you who took the time to send electronic cards, and cards via postal mail, this is for you.

Thank you for being there when I needed advice, or just to vent. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of JLand and read your journals. Thank you for reading and commenting in my journal. But most of all, Thank you for being my friends. And also, thank you for taking the time to make this day even more special then it already is.

How am I going to celebrate today? Babysitting. I am going to be leaving soon to go to my daughter Emma's and babysit my 2 grand children, while Emma goes to a prenatal check-up. She is using my van to go, because Dan needed the car today. It was his turn to car-pool the guys to work.

Later today weather says to expect thunder storms. I don't mind it at all. I love a good storm. Plus, we can really use the rain. Maybe I'll come home and bake a dish of brownies. Hey, a girl needs some kind of cake on her birthday right? LOL.

Well, Rebecca has informed me she is hungry. So breakfast time it is. Then we will leave for Emma's. I bet she tried to call cellphone. I left it out in the van and am too lazy to go down there and get it. I have to take my charger with me, cause I know it needs charging. Oh, last night my phone kept ringing and ringing. (House Phone). It was somebody I did not know. I have Caller ID. Jim and Rebecca were sleeping and I didn't want it to wake them up. So, I unplugged the dag on thing, and it's still unplugged, lol. If it were'nt for having a computer, I'd give up the house phone and just use cellphone, lol.

OK, I better go. This child is bugging me to eat. Have a wonderful day today, and thank you so much for the birthday wishes.

LOVE TO YOU ALL....................................

Words Of Wisdom

THERE WAS A BLIND GIRL WHO HATED HERSELF BECAUSE OF HER BLINDNESS. NOT ONLY DID SHE HATE HERSELF BUT SHE HATED EVERYONE ELSE, EXCEPT HER LOVING BOYFRIEND. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR HER AND SHE SAID THAT IF SHE COULD ONLY SEE THE WORLD, SHE WOULD MARRY HER BOYFRIEND.

ONE DAY, SOMEONE DONATED A PAIR OF EYES TO HER AND THEN SHE COULD SEE EVERYTHING, INCLUDING HER BOYFRIEND.

HER BOYFRIEND ASKED HER, "NOW THAT YOU CAN SEE THE WORLD, WILL YOU MARRY ME?" THE GIRL WAS SHOCKED WHEN SHE SAW THAT HER BOYFRIEND WAS BLIND TOO, SHE REFUSED TO MARRY HIM.

HER BOYFRIEND WALKED AWAY IN TEARS, AND LATER WROTE A LETTER TO HER THAT SIMPLY SAID. "JUST TAKE CARE OF MY EYES DEAR."

THIS IS HOW THE HUMAN BRAIN CHANGES WHEN OUR STATUS CHANGES. ONLY A FEW REMEMBER WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE BEFORE AND EVEN FEWER REMEMBER WHO TO THANK FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE EVEN WHEN TIMES WERE PAINFULLY UNBEARABLE.

LIFE IS A GIFT

TODAY BEFORE YOU THINK OF SAYING AN UNKIND WORD - THINK OF SOMEONE WHO CAN'T SPEAK.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TASTE OF YOUR FOOD - THINK OF SOMEONE WHO HAS NOTHING TO EAT.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE - THINK OF SOMEONE WHO'S CRYING OUT TO GOD FOR A COMPANION.

TODAY BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT LIFE - THINK OF SOMEONE WHOSE LIFE HAS ALREADY ENDED.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN - THINK OF SOMEONE WHO DESIRES CHILDREN BUT THEY'RE BARREN.

BEFORE YOU ARGUE ABOUT YOUR DIRTY HOUSE, SOMEONE DIDN'T CLEAN OR SWEEP - THINK OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING IN THE STREETS.

BEFORE WHINING ABOUT THE DISTANCE YOU DRIVE - THINK OF SOMEONE WHO WALKS THE SAME DISTANCE WITH THEIR FEET.

AND WHEN YOU ARE TIRED AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR JOB - THINK OF THE UNEMPLOYED, THE DISABLED AND THOSE WHO WISHED THEY HAD YOUR JOB.

BUT BEFORE YOU THINK OF POINTING THE FINGER OR CONDEMNING ANOTHER - REMEMBER THAT NOT ONE OF US ARE WITHOUT SIN AND WE ALL ANSWER TO ONE MAKER.

AND WHEN DEPRESSING THOUGHTS SEEM TO GET YOU DOWN - PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE AND THANK GOD YOU'RE ALIVE AND STILL AROUND.

LIFE IS A GIFT, LIVE IT, ENJOY IT, CELEBRATE IT, AND FULFILL IT.

FUNNIES

Little Johnny's at it again..... A new teacher was trying to make use of her psychology courses. She started her class by saying, "Everyone who thinks they're stupid, stand up!" After a few seconds, Little Johnny stood up. The teacher said, "Do you think you're stupid, Little Johnny?" "No, ma'am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!"

Little Johnny watched, fascinated, as his mother smoothed cold cream on her face. "Why do you do that, mommy?" he asked. "To make myself beautiful," said his mother, who then began removing the cream with a tissue. "What's the matter,Mommy?" asked Little Johnny. "You Giving up?"

The math teacher saw that little Johnny wasn't paying attention in class. She called on him and said,
"Johnny! What are 2 and 4 and 28 and 44?" Little Johnny quickly replied, "NBC, FOX, ESPN and the Cartoon Network!"
* ; * * * * * * * * * *
Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures tacked to a bulletin board of the 10 most wanted criminals. One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person. "Yes," said the policeman. "The detectives want very badly to capture him." Little Johnny asked, "Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture ?"
*  * * * * * * * * * *
Little Johnny attended a horse auction with his father. He watched as his father moved from horse to horse, running his hands up and down the horse's legs and rump, and chest. After a few minutes, Johnny asked, "Dad, why are you doing that?" His father replied, "Because when I'm buying horses, I have to make sure that they are healthy and in good shape before I buy. Johnny, looking worried, said, "Dad, I think the UPS guy wants to buy Mom ."

If this brightened your day, don't let it stop here. Pass it on with a smile. Keep spreading the cheer! Pass on to your friends! They like Johnny too ya know!

HUG

I forgot where I got this from, but came across it tonight in my Documents. I thought I'd share it with you.

A Woman's Poem

A very good friend of mine sent me this. I thought it was so funny, I had to share it with you all.

He didn't like the casserole <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

And he didn't like my cake.

He said my biscuits were too hard...

Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right

He didn't like the stew,

I didn't mend his socks

The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer, I was looking for a clue.

Then I turned around and smacked the shit out of him...

Like his mother used to do.

LOL, I loved it. I hope you get a laugh out of it too!

Lots to chat about

Woke up to some rain this morning, which is ok. It's nice and cool outside, so I turned off the A/C and opened my windows. Now what do I hear? Yes, traffic but also a dag on jack hammer. Always something in this city making noise, grrrrrrrrr. But I can deal with it.

Well, the other night when I posted Rebecca was sick, man was she sick. I was up all night. She was coughing, gagging, having problems breathing, crying and gasping for air. I considered ER, but decided against it. So, I stayed up all night attending to her. We went in bathroom, turned on shower (HOT WATER) let room fill up with steam and after about 20 minutes of that she was able to blow so much out of her nose, and cough up alot also. I changed her jammies, because they were damp from the steam and got her back in bed. She woke up 45 minutes later hot. Temperature check and it was 101. Ran tub of cool water, stripped her down and in tub for about 15 minutes. Got her out of tub dried off, rubbed her down with rubbing alcohol, back in jammies and 15 minutes later fever finally broke. Changed her jammies again, blew her nose 10 times and back in bed she went. It seemed like every 30 to 45 minutes, she was up blowing nose, and coughing. At 4:30am when she fell asleep again I got dressed and snuck out to CVS. The pharmacy there is open 24 hours, so I told the pharmacist her symptoms and told him I had given her Benedryl Cold and Allergy. He said her symptoms sound like what's going around with alot of kids. He suggested I give her Childrens Tylenol Plus Cold and Allergy. So, I bought a big bottle of it and also a new jar of Vicks Vapo Rub, and a box of Puffs Pluswith Aloe because her little nose was getting so red from blowing it. I got home just in time, because 5 minutes later she was up crying. temp was up again, 99. I have her the recommended 2 teaspoon dose of the medicine, put new vicks under nose and also rubbed some on her chest. She blew her nose about a dozen times, and back in bed she went. By now I had been up 24 hours straight no sleep. Around 9am, I got my coupons together and went grocery shopping. I bought lots of juices and chicken soup. She won't eat the soup, but I bought chicken noodle star soup and chicken noodle alphabet soup. Guess what? She loves it. So, she had a whole day of medicine, vicks, blowing nose, chicken soup and juice on couch with Ducky blanket. And last night at 8:30 she went to bed and slept all night with no problems. She woke up at 7:30 this morning happy and said, Mommy I feel so much better. Yeaaaaaaa, mommy is happy, but here you go, take your medicine. Pharmacist said to give it to her until all congestion is gone. Rebecca is like me when her throat hurts. We like something cold for throat. So, while at CVS, I spotted these. No Sugar, and freeze them.

Rebecca loves them, and so do I. I'm thinking Great Snack for dieting, yes? And serving size is 2 freeze pops, 5 calories per serving. Hellooooo, sounds good to me. And they do hit the spot too. I have also seen them in WM and ShopnBag.

Ok, how many of you use Ajax dish liquid? I have used it for years, because I love how the Lemon cuts grease. Well, about 5 weeks ago, I was at WM and seen this Ajax. A 64oz bottle of Ajax with bleache alternative Grapefruit scented. I bought it and I love it. And a little goes a long way too. It cuts the grease just like the lemon one and smells alot better. I suggest you try it. I paid 2.38 for it, but for 64oz that's a good deal.

Five weeks and thats all I have used, can we say BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Jim, Rebecca and I went out to Walmart at the Franklin Mills Mall. I was just going to get a pot for my Jade plant Joe got me. I found a nice one, not exactly what I wanted, but I do like this one. Here it is along with the only 2 birthday cards I received so far. One from my inlaws and one from LisaJo. Thank you again girlfriend. It really meant alot to me for you to remember me.

My Jim said the pot wasn't enough for my birthday and said to get something else. I told him I would really like new shower curtains, rugs and mini blind for bathroom. So he said, Let's go get them. Off to the bathroom isle we went. I found the perfect shower curtains. I say curtains cause I need 2 in my bathroom. Also found rugs, and Jim got the mini blind. I looked for a valance of some kind for the window, but couldn't find any. I might just get material and make my own. But here's what I chose.

Jim put up new splash guards on each end of shower and caulked around top of tub, so now it looks so much better. I want to find a towel stand to go over toilet, so I can get rid of the ugly black shelf stand in my bathroom, and I am going to make some wall decor to hang up. I figure since we're going to be living here a while longer, I might as well fix the place up some. Jim's putting a new kitchen floor in next weekend. Yea, finally get rid of that ugly floor covering in there now. I'm going to dye my bedroom curtains. Their cream colored right now, so I am thinking either a tan or hunter green. I like it dark in bedroom when I sleep.

I'm doing the carpets in a couple weeks. They are horrible looking. I have a very light gray carpeting, and man does it show up dirt. When that is done, my next thing will be to get another living room set. I hate my couch and cannot sit on it. There is no back support at all and I need that for my back.

I bet your wondering if I went to bed early last night. Well, sort of. I watched Soprano's last episode, which ended keeping me guessing, I was so disappointed, then I watched the news and off to bed I went. I woke up at 6:30 this morning.

My actual birthday is tomorrow, June 12th. There won't be a party. I don't give myself a party. It's just for kids. Anyways, today on my Things To Do list, is clean the kitchen. Vacuum down steps, clean glass on front door, hang new curtain on front door window, vacuum in hall downstairs and maybe wash the baseboards downstairs in hall. They need it badly. Yea, I know. I'm nuts wanting to do all this work with 7 hours sleep in 2 days, but if I don't do it, it'll never get done.

So that's it for now all. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and an even better monday. I have some alerts to read. So, if I haven't commented in a couple days, I will soon. It's just been hectic the past couple days for me, with Rebecca being sick and me getting no sleep.

Love to you all.............................
