Past few days

flickering candles

Well, the past few days have not been good days for me. I can't sleep at nights. I go to bed so tired and I am up 2 hours later. I cough and cough, sometimes it is so bad I get sick. That has happened 4 times this past weekend. This cold/virus or whatever it is, is kicking my butt good. I lay down in bed, I wake up to coughing. I get up come in livingroom or go in kitchen and sit in either rocking chair or at kitchen table and in 5 minutes I am asleep. Am I one of those people who has to sit up all night in a chair just to sleep more then 2 hours? Is this normal? It is literally driving me crazy. I don't know whether I am coming or going half the time. I am getting the days of the week messed up. I actually woke Rebecca up for school this morning, and told Jim get up or he's going to be late for work. He says, Ummmm hun it's sunday. Oops. Maybe it's Altzheimer's or I am just losing my mind. The past couple days I have not used sugar, drank soda or any beverage with caffeine in it to see if that was the problem. Nope still can't sleep. Last night at midnight what was I doing? Cleaning my livingroom is what. Yesterday I was exhausted. It was 2pm, I told Jim I was going to go lay down and take a nap. I layed there until 3 and got up. I didn't nap. I am going to give it a couple more days, and if I can't sleep then I am going to see my doctor. It scares me to even get behind the wheel of my van. I know if I fall asleep I am screwed. I have a ton of housework to do and not an ounce of energy to do it. I started today. I got my dresser cleaned off, went through all my clothes. I am happy to say I was able to box up my 3x and 4x things because they no longer fit me. They were falling off, literally. I like my clothes baggy, but not that baggy.

It's back to school tomorrow for Rebecca. I hope her real teacher is back tomorrow. After what happened last week these kids need to get back to a normal routine. If I don't see her teacher I'm leaving the school yard with my child.

Dan finally seen a doctor for his back on friday. It seems the 5th disk in his lower back is out of place. Torn actually and he has to have it fused back on. He told the doctor to schedule the surgery as soon as possible. He recommends Dan put off the physical therapy until after the surgery. He gave Dan a prescription for Vicodin for pain. His body got to use to the percosets and they weren't working anymore. I just hope and pray that after the back surgery Dan makes a full recovery.

My niece Donna sent me cute pics of her son and her new baby daughter. My scanner is being a pain, so I have to get Jim to run the hardware again so I can scan pics. He still hasn't figured out how to get this web cam working. It just won't work in the journal chatroom. Grrrr.

Well, it is going on 11:30pm. I think I am going to read a couple of my alerts then try to get some sleep. Wish me luck that tonight I can sleep longer than 2 hours. I hope everyone had a great weekend. We're suppose to be getting a warm up this week. I sure hope so. I'd love to open a window or two for a few hours.

Nighty Night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I sure do hope you can get some sleep.  It gets pretty dangerous after awhile.  I hate it that you are feeling so darned lousy.  I am sorry about Dan's back too.  That's a very rough surgery to go through and I know, I've had two so far.  Congratulations on getting thinner.  Unfortunately, I think I've found the weight you lost.  It's on me.  I can wear nothing now but Moo moo dresses or skirts and tops.  I have NO pants that will fit me except sweat pants.  It's horrible that I let myself go like this.  I have no one to kick but myself.

Feel better soon my sweet friend and I hope you can get the camera to work as Dirk has mine on that I got for Christmas and oh boy how I'd love to IM with you sometime.

  2. Honey I'm up all night here lately and I go to bed at 530am then get up at 8am. How's that for a schedule. I stay on the computer thinking if I read or go through graphic stuff I'll get tired, NOPE wide eyed. Hope you get some rest. Hope Dan comes out alright.
    Take care and Hugs, Chrissie

  3. Cindy... I am so sorry that you are having such a problem with sleeping!  I am sending you prayers.  AND for Dan!  Wow... back surgery... scary stuff... I hope he gets it fast!

    be well,

  4. Don't know how I missed this one Cindy...Anyway by now I hoep  that you have had some sleep.  Maybe it dosn't really matter where you sleep. Even if it is in the chair  so laong as you get some. ( I know an old lady who is now 87 who has never gone to be sinse she fell out ! about 6 years ago..and she is as bright as a button)  When she is awake she does sit with her feer up sometimes if she finds her ankles swelling. Her Dr. says it is ok so long as she sleeps !!  So don't worry to much about it.  Hope and pray that when Rebecca gets back to school today all will be much better.  Much Love  Sybil  Dan still on out prayer list as is Emma. XX

  5. Hope you start to feel better real soon.  It's terrible when you can't sleep.  Hope you get some soon.  I really hope Rebbecas school is back to normal.  Hope they get Dan's back sorted as well.  Looking forward to seeing the photos.
    Take care Cindy
    Hugs to you

  6. The not sleeping thing makes me crazy -- I empathize completely with what your going through.

  7. I hope he has the surgery soon.  I think it's the caffeine making you this way, it has happened to me to.  I hope this week is better for Rebecca at school.
    Love ya

  8. Usually I can't sleep when something is on my mind or I am very worried about something. It could be that or the cold you mention having. In either case I hope you get to feeling better real soon. BTW I've created a new journal & deleted the old one so just in case you read it or not here is the new link for it:

As always I will continue to keep you & your family in my prayers. Take care & get well soon.

  10. Cindy I hope you can get some rest. I know what is  like not to be able to sleep. It has been a problem of mine for as long as I can remember. I think a trip to a dr. would be a good idea. Just be imformed of any sleeping aide he may give you. Be imformed before taking anything.

Glad to hear the Dr. has a answer for your SIL and his back problems. My prayers are still going out to him.

Get some rest if you can.

    God Bless.

  11. I think worry and concern could be keeping you awake.  I know I could not sleep during the holidays when I was worried about my son Raymond having to go into rehab after a too busy autumn and pain in his hip replacement.  I am gradually starting to sleep again and you had a a worse shock to your system with Dan's fall.  So if you can I would give your body time to get the message that you can sleep now and the world won't fall apart! I got a get healed card off to Dan. I feel he is being so courageous and doing so well, you must be proud of him.  Gerry
