More info

Today I spent the morning and part of the afternoon over Emma's house, keeping my eye on Marissa. She has to be monitored closely. Pulse taken and written down each hour. Meals, activities written down, but no physical exertion at all. No running, skipping, hopping, jumping, nothing to cause her any stress at all. She has to lay down 30 minutes every 1 1/2 hours so her ankles do not swell, which they were doing yesterday. She's experiencing numbness in her fingers, slight pains in chest when she is up and moving around, and the biggest issue is she cannot fall asleep. This child was up over 24 hours with no sleep. Finally Emma gave her a dose of her Benedryl for her allergies and it caused Marissa to finally fall asleep. Marissa has had an allergy problem since birth. They were at the hospital 12 hours, 5pm yesterday til 5am this morning. Marissa is all wired up to her monitor and she hates it. She says the glue stickers are itchy. The cardiologists office called Emma at 8:30 this morning. She has to go see him wednesday morning. They got her in quick. Marissa will be given an dye injection and have a cat scan and an ultra sound. She is going to have a complete blood work up also. The cardiologists said this type of thing just doesn't happen. It is something that happens before birth. And is rarely detected unless tests are done. She had 3 ECG's last night and all 3 showed abnormality. A specialists checked the results and his conclusion was Wolff Parkinson's White Disorder. He says wednesday after all tests are done and he has the results, he will talk to Emma and Dan about options, surgery being one of them. That means Marissa will be spending a few days in the hospital. The procedure is to burn off the vessels that should not be there, by going up through her upper leg area near her pelvic area.

I want to thank each of you so very much for all your prayers you've sent up for me and my family lately. With what's been happening the past year, we certainly can use them. Things gotta get better soon, right? I sure hope they do. Jim is real upset over this new issue with Marissa. He just left to go over to see her and let her know she is loved by her Poppop.

I won't know anything more until after she goes to see the doctor on wednesday. But as soon as I find out anything I will let you know right away.

Later tonight I have a ton of pictures and video's to post. Jim and I kept our baby grand daughter over night saturday night and Rebecca went to her sister's. Adrianna was sooooooo good for us. She slept all night from 10pm until 6am. I will be back reading your journals starting tonight. I bet I got alot to catch up on in your lives.

Tomorrow in class I am spending the whole day. I'm going to have the kids make get well cards for Marissa. She will like that alot. Well, time to cook dinner. I'll see ya all later tonight. And again Thank you so much for caring.

Love you all.........................CINDY

  2. Cindy ... you folks are having a 'trying' year and I think sometimes no matter how hard the hits are or how fast they come, in the end, we become stronger for it all.  Four and one-half years ago I experienced such a year of horrid events, tragedies and ... oh, I thought I wouldn't get through.  I did.  And you all will too.

Hugs, hugs, good thoughts, well wishes and many, many prayers for you and your family.

    Thank you for the update.

  5. Awww... I'm glad Marissa is finally getting a little rest. Hope they figure out what to do and just do it and make her all better.
John's cousins little girl had to have something like that done. She was never allowed to do anything because of her heart. She had to have surgery and is now normal. I don't remember if she had the same condition or not.
Keep us updated. Can't wait to see new pictures of the kiddos.
    Take care and Hugs, Chrissie
