UPDATE ON DAN

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MY DAUGHTER EMMA. X-RAY SHOWS DAN HAS A FRACTURED NECK. THEY ARE TRYING TO KEEP HIM CALM SO THEY CAN DO AN MRI FROM HIS HEAD DOWN TO HIS PELVIC AREA. DAN KEEPS HAVING TWITCHING SPELLS AND SCREAMING OUT IN PAIN. THEY ARE GIVING HIM HIGH DOSES OF VALIUM TO CALM HIM DOWN, ALONG WITH A CONSTANT IV DRIP OF MORPHINE AND AN ADDED DOSE OF MORPHINE INJECTION EVERY 8 MINUTES. HE CAN MOVE HIS TOES SLIGHTLY, BUT NOT HIS LEGS. HE IS NOW RECEIVING OXYGEN BECAUSE HE IS HAVING PROBLEMS BREATHING.

THE UNION IS GETTING MY DAUGHTER A ROOM AT A VERY NICE HOTEL SO SHE CAN BE CLOSE TO DAN TONIGHT. SHE HAS MY BABY GRAND DAUGHTER WITH HER. DAN'S BROTHER BILL HAS DANIEL AND MARISSA AT HOME WITH HIM. HE KNOWS TO CALL ME IF HE NEEDS ME.

I CALLED MY SISTER HELEN AND TOLD HER WHAT IS GOING ON. SHE IS GOING TO THE HOSPITAL TONIGHT TO SEE EMMA AND DAN, AND GIVE EMMA A LITTLE SUPPORT. SHE LIVES NOT TO FAR FROM ATLANTIC CITY AND KNOWS THE AREA WELL.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SCARED IN MY LIFE. I CAN'T SLEEP, I CAN'T EAT, I FEEL LIKE I AM WALKING IN A DAZE. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT DAN AND AM CONCERNED THAT EMMA IS EATTING. SHE GETS NERVOUS OR STRESSED, SHE WON'T EAT. PLEASE KEEP THEM IN YOUR PRAYERS, AND TO ANY WHO HAVE PRAYER GROUPS, PLEASE ADD DAN AND EMMA TO THEM. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR LOVE AND CONCERN AND YOUR PRAYERS AND GOOD THOUGHTS. THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO ME. I LOVE YOU GUYS DEARLY.

I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED ON EVERYTHING I FIND OUT. EMMA IS GOING TO CALL ME LATER TONIGHT AND GIVE ME AN UPDATE. I WAS ASKED IF GET WELL CARDS WOULD BE WELCOMED FOR DAN. YES, THEY WOULD. I THINK IT WOULD HELP HIM TO KNOW HE HAS ALOT OF PEOPLE PRAYING AND THINKING ABOUT HIM. IF YOU'D LIKE TO SEND HIM A GET WELL CARD, EMAIL ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU THEIR ADDRESS.

EMABECMAR@AOL.COM

I MUST GO NOW, I HAVE TO CALL DAN'S BROTHER'S AND HIS MOM AND GIVE THEM THE LATEST NEWS. THANK YOU AGAIN MY FRIENDS/FAMILY.

LOVE TO ALL...........CINDY

  1. PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND DAN!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear this news, glad your daughter can be nearby, etc.  I don't blame you for being scared, or for anyone to be scared.

Know that many here do lift you up to the Lord, and Dan, and the others in the family and the medical staff.  There have been vast improvements in the capabilities in medical science.  May his be a positive outcome, with a lot less pain.

  45. It is so sad.  I am sure everyone is thinking about Dan and the ordeal he is going through.  You think if only if only and then you truly have to leave it in the hands of God.  I am going to send you an e-mail so I can send Dan evidence of our prayers and thinking of him.  I had a husband and our son in construction.  Dean worked on the Glen Canyon Dam for 3 years and five ironworkers died there in the early stages of the work when they were doing the extremely dangerous job hooking into the ledge. My son Gary's construction job is not nearly so dangerous, but an ironworker was killed just a few weeks ago in the building going up across the street.  He fell 14 stories.  I am so sorry for your family right now. 53. It's tough to have to sit and wait when a loved one is in trouble. It's hard not to be afraid. But GOD IS GOOD. Remember, dear one that "All things work together," That means that even now, when things appear to be a mess, they are working. God is never idle. He is constantly watching over his children. Dan will come through this. He will!
    Praying for all of you.
