My Saturday

Thank you D for this lovely tag.

What a day I had today. I woke up to my child screaming at her Daddy that she wanted more toast. This child ate 3 scrambled eggs, 4 slices of toast and a glass of milk for breakfast. Oh yes, and the toast must be sprinkled with cinnamon, and a dash of black pepper on her eggs. No salt, I don't allow it. Ok, so I grab a small glass and pour myself some diet pepsi. I have to have something cold to drink before I have coffee. Don't know why, but I do. I get on computer, read the news, check emails, read a couple journals. Have 2 cups of coffee while doing that. I go make myself a slice of toast, just to tell my tummy I ate something. I then take out a small package of chicken leg's from freezer and set them on a plate on counter. Dinner was baked chicken leg's and yams tonight. Didn't make any veggies I was all out of them. Rebecca had chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese sandwich and apple juice. Ok so where was I? Oh yea, after I had the slice of toast, I went into the bedroom and was gonna get dressed, but got side tracked. I started cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. My black bedroom furniture is all shiney, mirror sparkles, summer clothes packed away, winter clothes in the dresser drawers. As I went through Rebecca's things, I was like oh my gosh, 4T, not this year!!!!!!!  Thank goodness there was some things she can wear until I can get her some clothes. Christmas is coming, I will tell her grandparents she needs clothes, and Uncle Joe always buys her pajamma's, socks and t-shirts. He won't buy toys, cause he said kids wear out their clothes faster than toys. He had 2 son's himself. Still does their just grown men now. Joe Jr. is an EMT in Allentown, Pa, and Nicky is in the USAF, stationed in IRAQ for the next 4 month's.

Ok, I'm geting off the subject again, lol. So, I walked over to this huge black 6 shelf wall unit in my room that I use for sweater's, sweatshirt's, telephone directories. Jim has a few things stored way up on the top of it out of the reach of Miss Rebecca aka Curious George, lol. One of those things being a huge tackle box, full of weights, lures, bobber's, line, flies, jars of salmon eggs, he uses them to catch trout and salmon. Well, I tripped over one of his dag on boot's, fell into the wall unit, tackle box comes falling down right on top of my head at the edge where your hair meets your forehead line. It just about knocked me out. I went down on my knee's holding my hand on the spot it hit and I could feel the lump growing. Man, did that hurt. Jim came running in, checked my head, the whole time I am fussing up a storm, threatening to whip that tackle box right out the window. Jim grabbed it and ran out of the bedroom. I think he hid it, cause I haven't seen it, lol. So, I go into the kitchen, grab and icepack and sit down for about 10 minutes holding it on the lump. Talk about a headache, man did I have one. Jim ran for the tylenol after he hid that killer tackle box, lol. Poured me some pepsi, checked my head again, and put his boots under the bed, cause he knows as soon as I figured out it was those boot's fault, I'd of whipped them in the trash. I finally finished cleaning the bedroom after almost knocking myself out, lol. A good thing came from cleaning the bedroom today. I found a book that I thought I lost. It is an 1915 Webster's Dictionary. I found it in the wall of an abandoned building I was checking out in Virginia when I was looking for a place to rent as a Goodwill Store. Pages are in tact, none are torn or missing. Cover is a tad bit worn at edge's but it's still in excellent condition, for something that is 91 years old. Could it possibly be worth anything? Where or who would I go to to see? I have no idea. I went on ebay and couldn't find anything like it, so I have no idea if it is worth anything or how much. I also have a 1947 edition of Little Women, written by Louisa May Alcott, hard cover.

She is an awesome writer/author. I really enjoyed reading this old book. I like to go to thrift store's and go through all their books to see what I can find. I found 2 very old Folk Song Guitar books. Hubby took them over. Only paid 50 cents each for them, and they are from the early 1950's.

Ok, I hear a noise behind me, I turn and look, and there is a mouse running on the back of my couch, yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He jumped onto the curtain and climbed down to the floor and ran under the couch. Time to set out the traps. The neighbor next door is cleaning out her basement and every time she does she chases the mice to this house. She is moving and selling her house. Her ex husband was a pack rat and has a basement full of junk. She's been throwing it out a little at a time. Last year we caught 14 mice in here. I need a cat!!! I should borrow Emma's, lol.

Marissa had a birthday party today. We didn't go. I wasn't in the mood for a crowd of people and a party. I couldn't even afford to make my granddaughter her Rainbow Cake, and it really got me down. No cake or no gift from her Mommom, I feel horrible about that. I could of let Rebecca go, but Marissa has just had chicken pox and I didn't want to chance it with Rebecca catching them. I'll make it up to Marissa when we get back on our feet.

Well, I guess that's about all there is to say tonight. I think I will go into POGO for a bit, my on line games, then go to bed. Got a bit of a head ache still from that dag on tackle box, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Have a good night all, sleep well and sweet dreams to everyone. Love to all.

I'm so happy that you are okay. What's Jim doing trying to kill you? I sure am glad that baby didn't find that it would have killed her. What's he thinking? The kids never put their shoes away here either so I know what you mean.
Happy Birthday Marissa! So sorry that you all couldn't go and that she had the chicken pox. I know Rebecca prolly wanted to go badly. Maybe you can make the rainbow cake for another time.
On those mice, yes borrow the cat until the neighbors get done.
Hope you have a great day.
    Take care, Chrissie

  8. YIKES, sorry about your head, man that is not good at all.  Scott found lures at garage sales yesterday, we will make maybe 30.00 profit, not as much as I wanted but some. I don't know about the book and it's worth, never did books.  Nothing on ebay huh?? Hmmmm.  Sorry about Marissa and the party, we beat ourselves up so badly on these things. Maybe you can make a cake and have it just for FUN sometime, may mean a lot to her for having it out of the blue.  Have a good sunday, watch your head :)
