School today

Today my baby started school. Right before the bell rang, to line up I took a look around the lot at the kids. I will tell you I wanted to scoop up my little girl and run back to the van and get in and never come back. Those older kids are mean, beat on each other, curse, spit, kick. There was a cop in the back looking on and a security guard. They had no control over those kids. I kept my child next to me until she walked away in line to her class. My heart was racing, a huge lump in my throat and tears were falling. Her last words were, I love you to Mommy, when I yelled Bye Becca, I love you. Man, was that hard letting her walk away. She will be in school from 8:30am to 3:09pm.

So far today I did some grocery shopping. I want to cook a nice dinner. I bought all the fixings for meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, brocolli and a fresh baked loaf of italian bread. Jim will be happy. I haven't cooked in a couple days. In about 20 minutes I will head out and go do laundry. Yep, I am going to attempt it myself today. I'll just have to hurry and remove the clothes from the dryer so the heat don't get to me as much.

I also have to swing by the Rainbow store and get Rebecca a sweater. She needs a dark blue sweater.

Well, that's about it. I'll let you know how her first day went.

Love to all,

CINDY

  2. Cindy I too know how hard it is to let the go that first day...My daughter had to go to a rough school and I worried so much about her. We couldn't afford private school and so this was the only choice...I hated seeing her go to that school.so I know well what you are going through...I am praying that something will open up for Rebecca to go to...
    love ya,

  5. Hi Cindy its a awful day when you baby has to go through the gates. Our children start "big" school at four years old. My Amelia has just started to go all day and she loves it, and she wont be 5 until next January.  Hannah has just started what we call nursery school and she will go every morning starting at 9 and finnishing at 12 and she is just 3 years. She loves it too. I wish Becky all the luck in the world, wish she could go to a better school though it is so worrying for you. Loved all the photos. her teacher look so nice I am sure she will be O.K.Kathie.

  7. (((((((((((((((( Sis )))))))))))))))) I can only imagine how hard it was to leave her there. I know that feeling of wanting to pick them up and run. And I know your school isn't in the best settings. But I am hoping for a different outcome inside the school for her.  She will love it I hope, she looks so cute!!!!

  9. I do remember.  And you know she will be fine, but still, that's your baby.  Such a cute smile.  She's a cutie pie.  I bet she feels so grown up.  Dinner sounds good at your house.  Yesterday, we had lasagna, italian/garlic bread, salad and tea.  Tonight we will have Rock Cornish Hens and stove top stuffing and some kind of side veggie with it.  Big hugs to you, Nelishia

  10. Awww! What a happy, sad day for you and Rebecca. I know she will do fine. I fear  you will not get much more rest with the two girl's in school. Soon you will be as busy as EVER, with your new granddaughter and toddler grandson to love and spoil. [will you ever get any rest? ] ;-)

    God Bless.

  12. Long time no see, Cindy.

I've missed so much. First of all, let me just say that little Adrianna down there in your last entry is just gorgeous, such a sweet girl.

And awww... I still remember my first day of school. I was so excited to go, but I know my mom hated to see her baby go just like you did. She'll make lots of new friends and learn so many things though, she'll make you so proud =)

I miss you guys; I'm getting back to journaling, I swear!
    I hope you're doing well.

  13. I remember those days well... I went through it 3 times!  It is hard letting them take those first steps towards independence, Cindy... but, it does get easier.  There are many firsts in Rebecca's life.. as you well know.. having Emma..

Rebecca looked so cute, and so grown up! :)
