Yep, me again, lol. They cancelled our Tornado warning. Just got some rain and wind, but I do hear some thunder. It's off in a distance though. I've been going through my Dad's bible reading the things he has high lighted and underlined. I think what I am gonna do is write it all down and then go through it. He has pages and pages of things he has marked.

I still don't know why he gave this bible to my daughter's ex husband. All I was told was that I was suppose to get this when he died. My ex son in law did not know my Dad died last year, so maybe that is why. But I'm really glad he held onto it for me.

Well, I'm gonna go now, I'm tired. Have a good night all.

  1. I hope you get some closure from the passages he's marked.  I know it's gotta be hard for you.  Sometimes people are good...but do bad things when they see no alternative.  Just remember the good things.  Or at least try to, ok?

  4. The Bible came back to you when you were able to handle whatever it is that your Dad was trying to say.  Think about the good times, and the sweet times together with him for people are both good and bad, but mostly good.  Glad they cancelled the tornado weather for you all.  Don't need that scare.

  5. Glad the storms died down and everyone was safe. Good idea to write all that is underlined in the bible and maybe you can get the meaning from it. Helen

  6. I think he gave it to him because he knew he wouldn't give it to you until he did die, he didn't want you to read it while he was living.  I think it's wonderful that it was held on to and it says alot about your x-SIL and obviously someone your father trusted to do the job. I can't imagine what it is like to be you reading it, and I hope you find some closure somehow or peace.
    much love

  9. yes we in sterling, Va. had those storms too. the sky got a green hue to it also { my mom says thats a sign that a tornado might be around {she grew up in Ill.} }
    and silly me went out in it last night to do food shopping.     I still have the bible I had when I was in the 3rd grade. I read it 4 times back then and could not understand it. I am now reading it again and now I understand it.

    I also have about 3 other ones too. one is the "GOOD NEWS FOR MODREN MAN" that I got in 1973. that was geared to the "free love"generation back in my day.

  10. We had bad rain and wind...glad they said the tornado warning was canceled.  I think what you are doing with the bible is wonderful...you have been given a special gift.  My Grandmother highlighted her favorite verses...and I did as you did...they are always with me.  Hugs and love,

  11. Cindy,
    Glad you're not having a tornado. That sounds like a good idea writing it down and going through it. Hope you get something out of all of it.
    Take care, Chrissie
