Waiting, Waiting and more Waiting

Well, it's been a few days now since my latest catscan. The technician is comparing this scan to my last one in November 2005. I sure do hope no signs of the cancer have returned. I get so worried when I'm waiting for the results. Cancer runs in both sides of my parents family. My mother died in 1970 of Cervical Cancer, her mother died of Cancer,  2 of my Dad's sister's died of Breast Cancer in 1971, and I lost 2 cousin's (brother and sister) in 2004 of cancer. None of them were ever diagnosed to be in remission. I am the only one who was told I am in remission. But it scares me. To have lost so many family members to such a thing as cancer, I think would scare anyone. Good thing I have no teeth right now, otherwise I'd be chewing my nails, LOL. But hopefully my Doctor calls me to tell me things are fine and I'm still in remission. It will take alot off my shoulders to hear him say that. Their having an Hawaiian Aloha party at the Cancer Center where I go for cancer survivor's next month. I am gonna call them after my doctor calls me (hopefully good news) and reserve 7 tickets. My daughter and her family want to go with me. There's gonna be lots of food, music, games, prizes and dancing. It sounds like fun!! The kids should enjoy it.

Well, saturday is coming up. It's the night I'm keeping my 1yr old grandson Daniel for the night. It's his first sleepover, lol. I sure hope he is a good boy for mommom. Poppop won't be here. He's going up to the cabin and installing a shed, and replacing the water pump to the cabin. I told him I won't be going up there unless there's running water so we can shower. I refuse to bath in the creek with the fish, lol. I'm gonna post another entry after I fix breakfast for Rebecca and I. It's one of my families favorites. Serve it with a salad and some garlic bread and you got a whole meal, yummy. Gonna go, I've been given a breakfast menu from Rebecca. This 4yr old has informed me she would like an egg sandwich on toast with ketchup, applejuice and some pudding, cause she said it's full of calcium and it's good for her, lol. She's too much sometimes. Have a great day.

  1. Once you have cancer, the thought of it returning will never leave the back of your mind.  My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 21 years ago.  She did well.  All those years she tells me it haunted her.  Never knowing if and when it will return.  20 years later, it did!  I do hope your in remission still and you can live the rest of your life cancer free!

  2. I'm hoping and praying that those results will be good news sis...wow, all those family members gone because of cancer.  I had no idea that it ran so much in our family. But you're the only one who was diagnosed in remission...you beat it, sis! And you will keep beating it sis, and I am praying for you, that you can be sure. With God, all things are possible! Hope you have an awesome time at the Cancer Center party and with Daniel on Saturday! Love you lots! :-)

  3. I know it is very hard to wait when it is news about your health. I sure hope that you are still in remission. I wish I lived closer to you because my daughter had a Hawaiian theme party last year and I still have all the hula skirts and leis in a box. They would look great on you. I know sometime in the future I want to have an adult Hawaiian party so I can get more use out of the stuff. Rebecca's breakfast sounds good. Don't you just love when kids make the cutiest statements. Well, you have a fantastic Thursday. Hugs

  4. (((Cindy))) Know that we all wait for news with you and pray that you are still in remission. My niece has struggled for 21 yrs with cancer and it's always a very stressful time for the family when we wait for news to see if she is still in remission. She has had cancer since she was 16 and has had numerous surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments, lost all her hair, etc but is still a survivor. So much for a young child to go through. Anyway know that everyone here wishes you the best.
